Another one here who gets twitchy if I'm separated from my ghds for too long .

I took mine to Orlando and used them without problems in October 2002. The light didn't flash as quickly which I imagine means they weren't getting as hot, but I didn't notice a difference. Took them again in May 2003 and, again, no problems. My daughters found that their hair was affected by the humidity and so didn't bother after the first day, but I've never had a problem - different hair, I guess.

Took them to New York in December 2003 and...nothing! They were still ghds, but not the same ones (the originals had blown through over use). I bought a cheap pair in Saks, but they didn't do a thing to my hair, so ended up buying some for $280 in Redken on 5th Avenue (I didn't know they'd be that much - I just asked for the best ones they had!). Since then, I've always taken those with me, so I don't know whether or not it was just a problem in New York, or whether it was the new ghds.
