Things I am looking forward on this trip which are new (and not restaurants):
MNSSHP
Food and Wine festival
Toy Story Mania

Possibly the KTTK tour
Characters in Flight
Kim Possible

You are going to love TSM ::yes::. We want to do the Kim POssible Mission and the Characters In FLight too:thumbsup2

Did you say you were going to be Universal August 5th:headache: I don't get there until the 16th. What are our WDW days again:confused:

I'm most likely leaving Orlando the fifth. but nothing's set in stone yet re my dates.
My October dates are the 22nd (barely, I lad at 11pm) to the 29th.

Of course (imagine me channeling Lou Mongello here), there are restaurants which I am looking forward to eating at. I can neither confirm nor deny I have a running list in my cell phone. If you've never read a P/TR by me before, I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian who hates mushrooms, and eggs (like if they''re fried). Normal Gardenburgers have mushrooms in them, so I'm not a fan. Purportedly the new Garden burgers are exclusive to WDW-they have no mushrooms (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=30890265), but I'm trying to avoid paying $7 to find out I hate them, kwim. New restaurants I am looking forward to eating at include:
*The Wave. Menu looks awesome, plus I love the Contemporary.
* Sannaa-I believe I took one look at this menu and declared that I wanted to have its babies. I’m thinking I may eat here on Animal Kingdom day, as I’m not a fan of anything available counter service at Ak, and I love Tusker House, but think it+Boma is redundant.
*kouzzina restaurant-I love Cat Cora, so I hope the restaurant a)is open when I go, and b)has vegetarian options
* I'm excited to try the T-Rex. I actually like RFC, and I like dinosaurs (I'm just never going on Dinosaur again in my life.)
*The people I am going with are going to 'Ohana, which I'd most likely never go to on my own, so that should be interesting
*I'm debating Kona-I know I want Tonga Toast, but may cheap out and go to Captain Cooks again
Old favorites
*Beaches and Cream-due to the burger issues, and depending on what veggies are in the wrap, I'm thinking I may just get fries and a no way jose, unless I could ask for a roll with cheese on it
*Boma, Boma, Boma. I love Boma. All the falafels and fufu go down into mah belly.
*Columbia Harbor House
*Sunshine Seasons
*LeCellier-possibly, but not if they still have mushroom ravioli
*Fantasmic dinner package-possibly hollywood and vine
*Planet hollywood
*earl of sandwich
*Goofy's candy kitchen
*character breakfast, but I'm not sure which one, other than not Chef Mickey's
Of course, I've been doing some pre-trip shopping. I am trying to convince myself I don't need a new park bag, so to keep myself happy I've been hunting for a new laptop bag. I have a lovely new Built NY neoprene sleeve for Jessie the new laptop. I'm also hunting for a new fastpass holder-the Tink one I bought in '07 broke at Universal last year, then my second one kept on falling off. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a DISunplugged lanyard, but the holder doesn't zip. Any thoughts?
ETA; I saw UP last night. I loved it, but I was bawling through the first part. Mom was going to take Mordie and Ferdie to see it Thursday, but I may steer her towards something else.

I had a feeling you'd like that new menu!! :goodvibes Very vegetarian-friendly!! I've read that the animals come out to the savanaa around twelve, so if you get your lunch ADR around then, you may see them having their lunch, too!

As far as the pass holder, I just use the one on my lanyard, sorry! :confused3 No help there!

all those restaurants sound great. I actually like trying the veggie selections myself. I think we've chatted about that before....

I've been dying to try Sanaa and Kouzina too..mmmmm! The menu for Sanaa sounds amazing. Sadly my mom is even more of a picky eater than you so Sanaa is out of the question. :( For Le Cellier, you could always just order a few appetizers for yourself?

As for Kouzina...not sure of what their menu will be like but being Greek I can assure you that there are always a TON of veggie options (with no mushrooms! lol) and a ton of stuff can be tweaked to accomodate you. I always joke with my mom, who was born in Greece, that she really can't be Greek since she's vegetarian. What Greek do you know that doesn't eat seafood and lamb? :) haha

:rotfl::rotfl: Good to know.

Thanks for reading.

I didn't really like the wave in December, it was OK but nothing special and quite pricey, not that I paid :rotfl:

After this review, and a glance at the menu, I'm adding Paradiso 37 to my list. I am now up to 3 DTD food places. I may need to remind myself I won't be able to just take a boat to DTD this trip.
On a quasi-related note, I'm irked that free dining's booking window was extended by a month-I was hoping to see what codes were available prior to my ADR window.

* Sannaa-I believe I took one look at this menu and declared that I wanted to have its babies.
:lmao: I'm a cafetaria vegetarian (read: I'm vegetarian until my body screakms "MEAT NOW!") and thought this looked great, too! Only, where in heck can a girl get some tofu at WDW??? I thought for sure I'd find it at Sanaa. :sad1:
*The people I am going with are going to 'Ohana, which I'd most likely never go to on my own, so that should be interesting
I've read some really good reviews on the vegetarian meals they do ther,e though! :thumbsup2

I barely held it together. It was tough! :sad1:

Boston. (Oddly enough, "Mickey" and "Minnie" were not invited, although a good number of DVC owners appeared to be) As Mom was supposed to be out of town this weekend,* I booked it for just myself. I wasn't sure what to expect; I was thinking it might be like the DVC Doorway to Dreams to Chicagoans have. Anyway, I headed out of my house this morning to board the T and check it out (Deal or No Deal tryouts were at a nearby hotel, so I was worried about thundering hoardes**). The only real thundering hoards I saw were waiting for the T to the waterfront, so I waked from South Station. There was a big beer event going on at the Seaport World Trade Center, but there were people in mouse gloves directing us. The registration had said we needed the confirmation e-mail, but they just took my last name.
There was a kids club where you could drop your wee ones off, and then the adults and kids who refused the kids club headed into the auditorium which was playing a slideshow of Disney photos. Everyone got a lanyard with a tiny remote on it.
I was seated in the front, next to a guy about my age. As the were seating me, I was tempted to make a smart remark about stopping in the middle being unpatriotic, but decided not to do so. I watched the slideshow-should I be ashamed or proud at all the places I recognized (pool at the Disneyland Hotel). There was a mother with her DD who was 6ish, who was narrating the slides ("there's big thunder mountain! It's too scary for me." Mom: No it's not. "Yes, it is.") Guy and I were in stitches.

The remote (please excuse my ugly nails, I was moving people at work last week, so didn't bother with a redo.)

This is the Wishmaster-he gave a little speech, then the "tech crew" came out at did some acapella. The Nikki and Dave gave us the standard yay DVC speech. We got free luggage tags, bionculars, ears, and a padfolio. At one point, they were asking people to name their favorite resorts they'd stayed at-most people were all Poly! GF! CR! Me "POFQ!" Guy next to me "Pop Century!"
Then they got into the cost and breaking even dealio. Sample family they pointed at? Me and Guy. LOLZ. I would have thought they might have done more publically about financing, as I remember being impressed with the monthly cost, but they did not. They were having some awesome incentives, but only for BLT and only if you bought there. They drew a name for a free week at a RCI timeshare, I did not win.
Then, Mickey ad Minnie came in to escort us to the dance party-they were playing music and dancing, I met with Aladdin, Cindy and the Fairy Godmother. When I was in line for Cindy, there was a girl who could not decide whether to like her or not, the Fairygodmother asked me to take their photo, I did. Cindy later told me I had a good heart.

The food was good-a chocolate fountain, cupcakes and truffles. There were DVC people there if you wanted to talk to them, or you could go speak with the salespeople.

Had i known how fun it would have been-I may have seen if Mordie and Ferdie wanted to go.
Incidentally, I am nw the aunt of a high schooler (Sharpay), Eighth grader (Mordie), and Fifth grade (Ferdie). :faint::faint:
*Mom was supposed to go to the Vineyard today, but she had some estate uck for my uncle come up.
**I was once a finalist on a pop-culture game show in my teens, I didn't get cast, it didn't take off.

Nice booty and not a bad way to spend a day or a few hours at least....I would not have minded stopping in on the beer fest either...:rolleyes1
