Ok, the time has come to start with the questions. We are leaving in a week for a 4 day stay at CBR. Having never stayed there before, I have lots of questions. Hope ya'll can help!

I have requested a non-smoking room even though my husband smokes (but he never smokes around me or our DD). Can he go outside our room and smoke?

Is there still a playground on Parrot Cay Island?

How late does the food court stay open?

Do they have any "real" cribs there? My daughter has never slept in a pack and play. We stayed at AKL and WL in November last year and requested a crib and they found portable cribs for her to sleep in (very nice).

Do they have irons and ironing boards in the room? If not, can I request them from housekeeping?

Are the rooms with kings beds always corner room? It seems everytime I read about somebody with a king bed in their room, they are always on a corner.

Thanks for any help. I'm sure I'll think of more questions before we leave.

I can answer some.

If you asked for a non-smoking room and you are in a building with others who asked for non-smoking, I don't suggest that your husband step outside the door and smoke. There are plenty of walkways and courtyards, though.

CBR did not have an iron and ironing board when were were there in April 2000. I remember bringing my own travel iron. CSR has them though.... Someone who has been there after the room renovations may be able to say if they have added them.

I don't think any resort has 'real' cribs.... but we don't have kids so I cant be100% sure... sorry!

I don't think all king beds are corner rooms.... but I've read that all king rooms are on the second floor...someone else has posted they had a king bed on the first floor, but I believe it was wheelchair accessible.

Have a WONDERFUl trip! You will LOVE this resort!

Not all corner rooms are kings. Our corner room last week had 2 doubles.

I didn't see a playground on Parrot Cay. Just some walking paths and sandy areas. If there is one then it must be really small. There is a huge playground in front of Jamaica and also down in front of Barbados.

You can request iron/ironing board from housekeeping.

I don't know if they have real cribs at CBR, but we did have a real crib at POR and GF.

I don't think there is a rule about smoking outside of your room... but out of consideration to others he should not smoke in the corridors (in my opinion).

Hi! I can tell you that the food court stays open until 11. I'm not too sure about the other stuff though--sorry!! Hope you have a wonderful time!! :smooth:

*****We were in a non-smoking room and saw A LOT of butts on the ground around the bldg. So, yeah, I guess he can smoke around the blgd.

Is there still a playground on Parrot Cay Island?*****I thought it was there, but never saw it.

How late does the food court stay open?*****I think the last food counters closes at 11pm, but you can use the drink island 24/7.

Do they have irons and ironing boards in the room? If not, can I request them from housekeeping? ***** we got one for the whole stay.

Are the rooms with kings beds always corner room? It seems everytime I read about somebody with a king bed in their room, they are always on a corner. ***** we requested a corner and got two beds.

:) Thanks for the replies. I called CRO today and requested a room downstairs with a king bed so we'll see what we get!

About DH smoking...he smokes a pipe and is very considerate around others (asking if they mind if he smokes, does it bother them, etc.) and will stop smoking if asked to. Actually, he only takes a couple of puffs on his pipe and he's good to go for several hours. He would never smoke in a hotel, much less a hotel corridor and never near someone's hotel door! I was just wondering if it was OK for him to smoke outside of our room but not near it. Thank goodness he smokes a pipe so there are no cigarette butts to leave on the ground and he never empties his pipe on the ground because of animals trying to eat the tobacco (very dangerous).

I was at CBR in December and remember seeing playground equipment on Parrot Cay, although I don't remember where exactly. (No kids so didn't really pay attention!)

Anna:

Check out my CBR web site :)

I'll answer your questions:

Your husband can go outside and smoke.

There is no playground equipment on Parrot Cay but its a great little island, lots of fun to explore the different paths and seating areas there :) I was surprised to find little areas on the island that carried the same pirate's fort theme as the main pool! :)

The foodcourt is open till 11pm.

I don't know about the cribs, call the Front Desk to find out for sure.

There aren't any irons or boards in the rooms but a quick call to housekeeping will get them for you, no charge :)

Not sure if every king room is a corner, but I have noticed the same thing; everyone who's mentioned a king room was also a corner!

:) Thanks for all of the replies. I can't wait to go and stay at CBR for the first time. When I get back, I'll try and write a tip report. I am kinda bummed about no playground on Parrot Cay.:( I know there used to be one there some time ago.

Thanks again.

Denise (And, SeaSpray, I have your sight memorized I've looked at it so much!)

There was a playground area with a few things on Parrot Cay at Christmas. More sand than anything else.

I would also suggest moving away from the building if he is going to smoke.

I called Housekeeping and got an iron and board while we were there.
