A garden view at POFQ, really?

How on earth is this considered a
garden view at POFQ? Should this not be standard? I have noticed that there are several garden view rooms with a view like this. I would be very adimant this is not what I paid for!

If there isn't a parking lot on the other side of that wall, it's a garden view. Paying extra for a view at moderates is kind of a waste, I can't imagine keeping the blinds open when I'm in the room with people walking by. POFQ is our favorite resort, but I wouldn't pay extra for a "view"

"View" has always had some degree of disconnect between what Disney puts into the view category and what guests expect their view is going to be. I would agree "garden view" at POFQ might be anything where you can't see water or a parking lot - not necessarily a guarantee that you will see a garden. It's just the name they give to the category between "standard" and "water" views. it'd be up to the guest to ask for a change if they don't like their room.

That being said, I would never pay for a view in a moderate that I don't have a balcony to stand on and look at anything.

I would have shown that pic to the desk and asked for another room! I will pay for GV at a moderate just for location and not being at the back of the resort parking lot. But I'd never pay for. Pool or water view at a mod fo the same reason other poster said, no balcony. Really the only time I enjoyed view is coming or going out of my room.
I think POFQ need to re-assess views. Brick wall should be standard view!!

Oh, I didn't get that view, I just seen it looking at the room views section of TP. I just can't believe that they have not reclassified those rooms that have a view such as that. There is more than just that one.

Geesh, We have a garden view room this April. Haha, hope it doesn't look like that.. Will they change rooms for reasons like this?? I guess I'm not overly worried though. We only upgraded the "View" because that's what was available for changing our reservation to the spring discount, and still saved us some money.

I however, would definitely be upset if I paid for it... That's pretty misleading from what's in the photo when booking..

If they have a room that meets your standards available, they will probably let you change. I would not count on reclassification.

Just an FYI, I have found the view section, as well as the Room Finder Tool, of Touring Plans to be extremely inaccurate.

This. And they frequently use the same photo for different rooms, with an explanation like, "similar view."

Don't get me wrong - I love TP - for their touring plans. But it would take a very. long. time. to get photos of the view from each and every room. Think of it more like a guideline. (anyone? anyone catch that? perhaps a pirate lover?) LOL

I wouldn't worry about it until I got that room and it had that view. If I did get it after booking Garden, I might ask for a refund for the difference from Standard .

I would consider "view" to be more money for nothing in regards to any moderate room. I made teh mistake of paying extra for water view at POFQ one time and that will never happen again. Moderates have external corridors, so unless you enjoy hanging over a railing to see the water, gardens, or anything else, why pay for that?
