A Frozen Holiday Wish... Here's Olaf! plus VIDEO!!

This show kept me up every night last week! We had a theme park view room at the Polynesian and they would practice this every night over and over and over with different actors/dancers in the middle of the night when the park was closed. The first few times I was excited and sat out on the balcony and watched even though it was 3, 4, 5AM, but by the third night I was over it lol. It was gorgeous seeing the castle lit up like that though (the ice is really really bright). Every night I would be sleeping and be woken up hearing, "Olaf? Olaf!" or the Let It Go music....then directors sayng things like, "ok, in ten minutes we'll run through it again with the second group". So nice to see the character part too now, not just the castle lights and sound. :goodvibes

Were they setting off fireworks during practice? I didn't hear a thing. If so, I'm surprised the fireworks didn't wake me up. I live nearby and the fireworks are very loud at my house.

I just watched the video and I think that DS will be so excited about the show. Since he's only almost 3 I was worried that some stage shows might not interest him as much, but I can't wait to see the look on his face while he watches this. So magical! Only 27 more days until we're there!!

No, they did everything except the fireworks.

It will be great for him! I watched the video and think I will just watch it a few more times and not make my DH (who is 60) go to that show. He is going to the party with me, but I know he is just going to humor me, not because he wants to. He will be watching Celebrate the Magic, Wishes, and parade, haven't decided about the Celebrate the Season and how many character meets we will do.

You could hear a stage show in MK from the Poly?

I will be there next week and plan on giving Olaf a warm hug for Skywise.

Watched the video - I liked that they pointed out that it wasn't "their" castle and thought it'd have been a perfect point to have Cinderella (or the fairy godmother) appear and give them permission. As it was all the calls for "Let's do it anyway" come off as a little... odd to me. Is this what we want to teach our kids?

Thought they could've done something interesting with Olaf jumping down from the window and falling apart (Maybe throw his "butt" down as a snow ball and have them catch it and give it to him before he appears on the ground floor all thew while shouting "get my butt, get my butt!")

The skit was... meh... but the original wasn't too much better although I think it had more charm. Overall I liked the new lighting sequence and if/when they go back to the fairy godmother doing it I hope they reincorporate the ideas.

My son is going to be over the moon about Olaf! The only thing he likes about Frozen :rotfl:

My daughter is going to just LOVE this. I am so glad we decided to take them back!

Ok, I admit I had mixed feelings about Frozen taking over Cinderella Castle, but we just watched the video and my 3 year old freaked out when Olaf came out and was mesmerized by the entire thing. Guess I'll be staking out a spot way in advance of the lighting ceremony come December. Watching her freak out and scream with glee just made the thousands of dollars we just paid Disney totally worth it.

Oh my gosh I thought the EXACT same thing!! I was like oh wow Cinderella is coming out but then they were all "Meh who cares?" :confused3

I think the characters were cute, and I enjoyed the lighting sequence. However, I found it to be missing that extra magical Disney sentiment like the previous show. I remember tearing up every time I saw the Fairy Godmother light it. I do think Olaf is adorable, but I'm still hoping the Fairy Godmother will be back next year.

OK, This... I get that it's popular, but until I read this couldn't put my finger on it...

Here there is so much talk about the "entitlement Generation" and this lack of "respect" just seems to model aweful character-building. (Yes, I would be upset if someone showed up on my block and decided to "repaint/decorate" my house for the Holidays because it just didn't seem "festive" enough for them. Bad show, Disney!)

Honestly, I would have forgiven (and even appreciated) the Frozen over-kill if
a) Cinderella had been there--perhaps welcoming her guests into her home for the Holidays or even
b) they had gone all out and had the princesses (from Snow on) gathered together to "wish for a white Christmas" and have Cinderella ask Elsa to use her talent in making a "winter fantasyland" come alive.

It could have been a GREAT script (with great social-skills modelling)!

In the original, wasn't Mickey & co. plus Cinderella, Prince Charming and Fairy Godmother present? So Classic Disney was kicked out for 2 Girls, a guy and a cute snowman....

Idea: Make the Castle lighting a princess thing (maybe make the pre-lighting a Mickey and friends); turn the parade back into Mickey and Friends (where the Arendelle ladies get their float)... and refocus on Disney through the generations, not just Frozen.

I kinda am really regretting this is "my year" to "go Disney".... please don't hate me...

Sadly, that wouldn't work. Beginning on Wednesday, when the Dream Along with Mickey cast came out for the 5:35 and then the 6:45 shows, they were welcomed by boos from the guests who were waiting for Elsa and Gang. Very discouraging for the cast and sad for all the kids in the audience to think that was normal and appropriate behavior by adults.

Wow! People were actually booing? Unbelievable! Sad to think we have already peaked as a society as far as manners and how we treat each other goes.

Saw Frozen for the first time last night. Simply blown away. What a wonderful movie and soundtrack. Looking forward to the Frozen stuff at Disney when we go in the next few weeks!

OK. Entitlement Generation without Manners.

Seriously--I am really regretting us going to Disney on our first trip. I will not "boo" the Frozen girls off the stage--I have too much real class and grace (I have never "booed" anyone for any reason).

When Mickey is not welcome in Disney, something is completely wrong.

Parents modelling bad, ungracious, impatient, selfish behavior are the real problem here--Disney caving in to make a buck just makes them feel they are in the right.

Absolutely disgusted with this information.

I was at the 7:30 show Wednesday night and arrived early to get a good spot. We were fairly close to the stage when the Dream Along With Mickey Show started at 6:45. I didn't hear any boos or anything negative. It's always very loud in large crowds like that, so maybe it went on and I didn't hear it, but everyone around me seemed to be enjoying the show.
