So, who else saw The Princess and the Frog and couldn't stop thinking about all the amazing new things Disney could translate from that film directly into vibrant and exciting new attractions in New Orleans Square. Blue Bayou becomes Tiana's Place, Loius takes requests on the Riverboat, or perhaps Tiana and Naveen lead us all on a rompous ride through the bayou... :thumbsup2 Not to mention the literal references to Pirates of the Caribbean in the film's credit sequence (which, of course, they wouldn't dare change that ride with Pirates 4 on the way).

Were you sitting in front of me on PotC last weekend? There was a family ahead of us and the mom was saying the exact same thing about changing the Blue Bayou (was it labeled Tiana's PALACE in the end of the movie, even though the name throughout was Place?). She was also pointing out Ray and all his relatives.

I find it kind of funny because Tomorrowland needs more new vibrant attractions than NoS, IMO (NoS already has two of the most immersive attractions anywhere. But yes, I couldn't help but think of Tiana as I was passing through the bayou on PotC, and now I won't be able to stop thinking of the links between the movie and the park!

(As much as I'd love to be able to see Tiana and Naveen even after their current promotion ends, I think there would be mass riots if the Blue Bayou turned into a character meal, though. )

They should!
Also on the riverboat they should have a band playing music and have someone dressed as Louis

I love that movie! I wanna go see it again now.

Please, no. Not everything at Disneyland needs to have a character tie-in. This has actually been my biggest fear since it was first announced that this movie would take place in New Orleans. As great as I'm sure the movie is (haven't seen it yet, but looking forward to it), I PRAY they don't turn New Orleans Square into "Princess and the Frog Land" My heart would sink if they turned Blue Bayou into "Tiana's Place", or any other such thing that would strip NOS of its integrity and make it all about Tiana and the gang. Meh. Sell Princess and the Frog merchandise, have a Tiana/Naveen meet 'n greet and leave it at that, I say.

Oh please no!!! If you want to retheme a restaurant take the French Market Restaurant, Royal Street Veranda or Cafe Orleans.... Just leave the Blue Bayou alone! ;)

I think it was Tiana's "Palace" because she was a princess then. Instead of a castle, she got her restaurant :thumbsup2

Wouldn't it be nice to rename Cafe Orleans to Tiana's Palace?

I still haven't seen the movie yet!!

Too bad that Tarzan's Tree House (a total waste) isn't in NOS. They should turn it into Mama Odie's tree house complete with a ship at the top, full of voodoo charms, etc and all the colored lighted bottles and moss hanging from the tree. That would be so cool.

Oh please, don't change the BB!!! Change the French Market, or Cafe Orleans, but please leave BB alone..... :( I haven't seen the movie yet, hoping to take DD this weekend for her bday, we are excited about Princess Tiana but don't change the BB........

If a restaurant were actually made to a character meal, I'd prefer French Market versus Cafe Orleans, simply because I really liked the food at Cafe Orleans and I'm not sure I'd want them to change a thing! :)

Perhaps a lightly rethemed restaurant could be named Tiana's Place (instead of Palace) since neither are very grand. :)

Is the meet and greet actually going to be a fixture now, or is it just a temporary promotion?

ugh i dont like the Tarzan tree house, I used to love it when it was Swiss Family treehouse.

but yes i agree they should change it!

I can't remember which place it is in NOS that serves really good gumbo--but I think that one should turn into Tiana's Palace, and definitely not the Blue Bayou (especially not before I've had a chance to eat there--I had a reservation last summer when I went but everyone else in my party decided the day before we'd rather spend our time and money doing other things... foiled again!). I like the idea of NOS having a few Princess and the Frog tie-ins here and there, but I definitely don't like the idea of it turning into Princess and the Frog-land... still, I doubt Disney chose New Orleans as the setting for the film without thinking of the tie-in opportunities at NOS!

changing the tree house is a splendid idea!! and changing the french market even better!!!

The Gumbo is at Cafe Orleans, it's the same Gumbo they have at the Blue Bayou. :) It's super good..... :) I'm thinking French Market might be a better place to change too, might just be easier. And I have no cares for the treehouse either way, it might be fun to change it up. :)

I have to agree, just returned from seeing The Princess and The Frog, it was amazing!!! Loved it, my new favorite Princess movie!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I don't want to see the Blue Bayou go, that is just unique and too cool to let go, but I for sure feel that Disneyland in NOS needs to do some rethemeing for this movie. They just might too since it has been so popular. We for sure need Tiana's Palace, it would be cool. I for sure hope to see this happen!!!:goodvibes

We finally saw the new movie tonight, and WOW! Some of the opportunities to add P&F to New Orleans Square are so obvious that I think they were absolutely planned as the film was being written. For example, I will be very surprised if Blue Bayou does not get some sort of refurb soon.

I love it! I think having some sort of band like in the movie would be GREAT! Loved the movie! Also, would love to see the tree changed, but it is not in NOS!
