I had never heard of IPT till my neighbor had it. He was young at the time only 18 but he had surgery at Children's Hospital in Boston (yes at 18 he had it there) and today he's fine and 30 yrs old with a brand new baby girl.

I'm sure your friend will be fine.

Very scary sounding... my prayers are with Chris and all the family.

My daughter had ITP. We were very lucky with her. She was only in the hospital once for steroid treatments. Her count was monitored for 14 months. At that point her count had been up for long enough that the doctors released her. ITP can be very scary. Good luck.
