Hi All,

Okay if you have a Boardwalk view villa - like the one on page 100 of our new members guidebook - do all the lights bother you at night when you are trying to sleep? And does anyone know the room numbers of this area?
Thanks as always for any and all info:)

We enjoy the boardwalk view-and the lights have not bothered us especially after closing the curtains at night. I have heard others complain about some of the noises-but since we haven't been bothered by them hopefully others will respond!

Thanks CLC,
I would love to stay on the boardwalk but the kids need darkness to sleep - noise doesn't bother them - lights on do. So now I know the lights are not an issue - thanks
Hey anyone have any comments on the noise? Not that it will stop us from staying here - just curious on the level during the summer.:D

I stay on the boardwalk when I can afford it, and I love it. Lights are never an issue because we close the curtains before we go to bed. The noise isn't an issue either, because most everything is closing around 10 on most nights, and we are all awake till then. Even when the booths stay open, there aren't many people after 10, so it's still quiet. The weekends and the holidays are different, it's more like 11 or so before everyone is heading home to bed. The only exception to that is down by the Atlantic Dance Hall, that is later before things quiet down. The 4th of July is VERY noisy till about midnight, with a DJ and a ton of people. They make a really big deal out of the fireworks, and they have music going, and so forth. Still, it was fun to watch from the balcony. Those rooms are around 2009 or so, the lower the ending numbers the closer to Atlantic Dance Hall. If your numbers are higher, you are closer to the lobby, like 2059. We loved those rooms, but they overlook the square, not the boardwalk, per se.

Ditto to what Cruelladeville said. I have stayed in a BW view many times and once you close the drapes and the balcony doors you do not see or hear anything. Special holiday happenings like the 4th of July, etc are the exception but these are fun things that you want to be part of!

just had to say that our last night at BWV was the night before Halloween... and, we'd been up late that night.
i was just settling into bed and falling asleep.

we normally leave the heavy curtains open 'cause we actually like having the lights (we're used to it 'cause it's like that at home for us).

so, all of a sudden, there were these super bright spotlights shining and flashing into our room!
i thought there were police outside shining a searchlight or something. i jumped up and went to the window, and was really annoyed to find that it was actually the DJ for the Halloween Village Green party...

he was setting up his equipment, and testing out his lights.
ohhh... and he tested... and tested... for almost an hour.

i guess he had to make sure all his "cool" little light patterns were perfect.

i was so annoyed! even pulling the curtains closed didn't help, because his lights were so bright it would still flash through.

it was quite an unpleasant end to our last night at WDW. :(

We just returned yesterday and had a BW view! We loved the view :) The curtains do a very good job of blocking out the light. The noise that we could hear was mostly muffled, so it was never an issue.

The view was incredible from our rooms! We were the second to last set of doors on the 5th floor in the Crest o the Wave building above the DVC sales office. Rooms 5003 and 5005 (2 bedroom). The first time we did the ling hike to our room it seemed to go on forever; because, we did not know when it would end LOL; however, we did not mind the walk the rest of the time though :) The view was really spectacular! Every night we could see the high Illuminations fireworks right from our room. I would say the hike to the room was well worth it!

the only thing we ever heard from the boardwalk was a clanging bell from one of the games, and it ended fairly early, I am pretty sure before 10, and it wasn't loud enough to really be a problem. I was just loud enough for us to notice that it was the only sound we heard from the boardwalk when the doors were closed. Even if it was louder, and the lights were brighter, it would be worth the view, and my kids love blowing bubbles and watching people look to see where they came from.
