Has anyone traveled to Logan on the Concord Bus system. DH and I are thinking about taking the bus to Logan in January for our flight to Orlando! I would love to hear about any experiences with this.

Thank you!!

Trish

I did years ago. I was going to WDW for the first time and my mom and sister and her family had an earlier flight and couldn't take us to Boston. I was traveling with a friend of mine and we were 16 years old so it was easy enough for us to handle and the bus was nice and comfortable. Not sure how much has changed if anything although we did leave from Tilton which is 20 minutes north of Concord but I don't believe they do that anymore. I think it would be a good alternative to driving in Boston yourself.

We haven't taken Concord but on Friday we're going to be taking C & J Trailways out of Portsmouth to Logan. You can park your car for free and kids ride for free with adult r/t ticket purchase (tickets are $39). Here's the website if you're interested...

We live in western Maine and have not used the concord bus system but the C&J in Portsmouth NH. We love it. It is on 95, the exit after the rotaty in Portsmouth (not 100% sure on that, but pretty sure). It cost around $40.00 per person from Portsouth to Logan, they leave every hour and parking to free at the bus terminal. I HIGHLY recomend using C&J or the Concord Bus to get to Logan.

Oh too funny--we posted at the same time!! I forgot that kid's ride free. Another reason we use C&J!!

Have you ever had a problem with the bus or parking lot being full? This will be our first time using them and I don't want any surprises!!

sending you a PM!
Whoops, Jeanne, I sent it to you too...:rotfl: :rotfl:

No we have never had a problem with parking. They have several parking lots (all within walking distance). We have been very lucky and have been able to park every time in their main, close to the terminal parking lot (4 times!!).

I've used Concord Trailways at least half a dozen times and LOVE it!! I have never had trouble parking ( I think it is now $2/day) and since I am a teacher always travel during peak times. They have door to (terminal) door service, show a movie and usually hand out FREE snacks. On the return trips, I have never had to wait more than 45minutes for a bus (they usually run every hour or so) I highly recommed them :cool1:

I've only taken the bus down and had no problems at all! Got to the terminal 30 minutes before the bus left to get our tickets and was at the front of the the line. We had someone pick us up at Logan, though, so we could stop at Kelly's in Saugus.

Would love to hear details about the return though! Prices for flights from Portland are outrageous and if I ever want to take a short trip to thaw out this winter, I'd have to fly from Boston and use ConcordTrailsways. I still think it's crazy to travel to Logan as PWM is just 10 minutes from work, but it's almost or over $200 more expensive!

Though I have always loved flying out of the Portland International Jetport (oh yeah! Jetport! :rotfl: ) the pricing does get a bit steep. My folks and brother still live in Maine, while I am in exile down here in the Deep South in Massachusetts. When my Auntie in Biddeford/ Saco area comes down via Boston, she usually takes a limo for about $100 r-t. She loves door-to-door service and someone waiting for you at Logan. Of course when my parents fly out of Logan (from the Kennebunks), they usually stay with us (all of 13 miles out) and I drive them there (sorry, I'm not offering ;)).

Where does the Concord bus leave from in Maine? Going in and out of LOgan realy only makes sense for those of us south of Augusta; otherwise it's a wicked long drive...

Do you know who she uses or could you find out? I'd like to look in to it for future trips. Concord Trailways has express busses that go directly to Logan from Portland.

It was a local Saco company, and I recall that they were great! I don't recall the name off the top of my head, but I will call and find out/ post it later. Total cost was ~$120, so steeper than Concord from Portland or C&J out of Portsmouth, but then it is door to door.
