I'd never heard of foot-flushing before the DIS, and I'm amazed that the majority of DIS'ers actually do this! I was wondering if this is either a DIS or regional phenomenon. So, have you always foot-flushed, only flushed since you read about it here, or have you never heard of it before? (Poll coming)

My husband has been doing it for as long as I've known him. I don't - I use some clean toilet paper to flush with so I don't have to touch the flusher. I can't imagine flushing with my foot in high heels.

I always thought that everyone used their foot! The first time I saw a potty with the flusher at eye level, I wondered "How in the heck can I get my foot up there???" It didn't occur to me NOT to foot flush.

I've always foot flushed, just something my Mom always told me to do. Just something I found out a week ago though, if you're wearing a ballet flat type of shoe you better make REAL sure that the shoe is on good and tight before attempting to foot flush....especially when you're at work and have to wear those shoes the rest of the day :rolleyes1

I put "other". I have "foot flushed" in the past and will do so again, but I don't always do it. It's based on the sanitary condition of said restroom. If it looks overall clean, I'll chance it. If it's the pits, I'll use my foot if the handle is positioned to allow it.

Overall, most public restrooms do seem to be cleaner now then they were even 5 years ago, so I don't do it as often as I used to.

My gramma taught me to foot flush, towel turn (sink handles and door knobs) and carried those seat protectors in her purse.

She also taught me to pull my product from the middle because people tend to mess with, test, etc. the things at the front. :lmao:

I don't foot flush. I always wash my hands after using the bathroom, so I never thought it was a big deal to just use my hand to flush. I do have a couple friends that foot flush, though.

I do this!!!! When we are in the store together, DH knows now not to grab the first one on the shelf :rotfl:

Oh, and I foot flush. Definitely

I have always been a foot flusher, and until the DIS I didn't know people actually used their hands.

I just asked dd "how do you flush in a public bathroom?" and she said "with my foot". Thats my girl :thumbsup2

Once a foot-flusher, always a foot-flusher!

Now if I could open up the stall door with my foot so I don't get anyones pottyhands on my hands??

Yeah, I was a bit appalled when I read about flushing with one's foot on the DIS. However, it's certainly not the only behavior that I've found odd that I've read about here, either. ;)

Generally I keep my feet out of the toilet when I flush, but then again it depends on if I stepped in something or had too much RUM!

Long time foot flusher! Been foot flushing long before the DIS even existed. Before the world wide web even existed. YUP, its true.

:thumbsup2

I am a long-time foot-flusher and didn't know others DIDN'T do this until I read it on the Dis.

I can even High-Karate the push buttons that are above the jon.

I've always been a foot flusher. I thought it was weird that I did, because most of my friends flush with their hands. But I've met more people who foot flush. It seems like it's 50-50! When I'm opening the stall door, I cover my hand with my sleeve or the bottom of my shirt. And when I open the bathroom door to leave the bathroom I use a paper towel to grab the handle.

I'm not even a germaphobe, it's just how I was taught to approach a public bathroom! But the foot flushing is such a habit that I do it at home too.

Yep foot flusher from way back. gotta be careful when wearing flip flops though....:rotfl:

Do heads have flushers? And when was the last time you were sober enough to notice?

:cutie: <=====I am the soul of innocence.:rolleyes1

I've always been a foot flusher. My mother taught me to foot flush at a public toilet. I taught my dd to foot flush. I'm confident that someday my grandchildren will be foot flushers. :lmao:
