With our 3rd trip to WDW now complete:sad1: I thought it might be interesting to try and write a trip report. Please be easy on me, this is a whole new area for me, but I enjoyed reading others so I thought I would give it a try. We stayed at POP from May 19-26 2007. So here goes:
This trip did start out a bit more confusing than others, I tried to do to much on the 18th. The good news is that nursing school is now done, and to my suprise I got a reward for the highest gpa in the class:goodvibes . Trying to do a graduation, party, and last minute packing when your flight leaves at 500 isn't fun, but Disney is worth it....right.

The cast going on this trip was my family, nana, and papa. My family consists of me, my husband, and three sons. Andy the 8 year old that knows everything, Brendan aka Buzz....he really thinks he is the next Buzz, and my own little Mickey Mouse Brock. This was the first trip with just us and grandparents so I was excited....so here goes.

Saturday May 19: We make it easily on time to the airport, everything is going great....well we thought until nana found out she didn't have her license. Never do last minute purse changes!! Indy wasn't too bad about it, she just had to go through a different screening process. We make the flight, and before we know we touch down in Orlando. What a great day, and better yet only 30 minutes from POP. We board the Magical Express, and are on our way. We arrive at POP, this was the first time at this resort, so we were anxious to see this resort. It was great!! The check in line was a little long, but moved fast. Our room wasn't ready, so off to BB. This was also a first for us, and again Disney didn't let us down. It was great, although I will admit I was to much of a chicken to ride SP.
After a few hours back to the resort, and our room was ready:banana:
Just enough time to give the kids a little nap, and get ready for CM, where Brock was going to celebrate his 4th birthday.
Well CM was great, but we didn't end the night without a major suprise. While we were eating Brock starting throwing up everywhere in the restaurant. I felt so bad for the people around us, it didn't seem like I could get him out of there fast enough. I think he just wanted a new shirt, because after that he was fine for the whole trip.

Well this ends day 1, next up the emergency room and CP.

Thought Id sign on for this trip report to hear another central IL prespective. Waiting to hear more...

your boys are soo cute! where did you get the gifts from? how did you arrange that my kids would love a "surprise" when we get in the room.
Thanks for sharing!

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about your son getting sick, but I'm glad he was better after that.

Very cute gift baskets!!

The gift baskets came from memories by sarah, and I can't give her enough credit. She is wonderful to work with, it cost around 200.00 for 3 baskets and a hat, but the look on their faces was priceless.

They may look cute, but don't be fooled they are so wild at times:eek:

Ok on to day 2
Today's plans were to eat at CP for breakfast, and enjoy MK. We had 900 adr's so we started getting up at 700. Everything seemed ok, and then here comes papa, nana was sick. Still not sure of the cause, but I have never seemed someone's glands swollen so big, she had kissing tonsils that just kept gagging her. While she has some sinus problems nothing like this has ever happened. We called the front desk to see what to do, since it was before 8 we had two options. We could wait until 8 to see a doctor at a walk in or call for an ambulance. Not knowing what was going on we called for the ambulance. It wasn't 10 minutes and they were there, along with hotel reps. I have to say that I was really impressed with how POP handled this situation. I feel they went above and beyond, and the ambulance staff was great. Since we had no clue what was going on we also decided to cancel our cp adr's. When nana/papa left on the ambulance I went back to tell husband/kids the news. While they were upset about nana, you should have seen the kid's faces when they found out we were not eating with Pooh.:sad1:
My husband started talking and came to the conclusion that nana/papa would have wanted us to go ahead, so now here it is 0845 and I am at the front desk trying to get new adr's. Again the staff at POP was great, when they found out what happened I was told that they would make this happen. We got adr's at 0930, so off to the park we go. We arrive at MK just in time to see the opening ceremony/rope drop. If you havn't seen this it is nice to see. We make it through this meal without any new events, so after eating I start trying to track nana down, this was fun since I had no idea where she was. I finally get a real nice unit secretary at the hospital, and 45 minutes later we find out nana was discharged. We still couldn't get ahold of them, but at least we knew things must be ok. So off to our day. A couple hours later nana/papa calls and they are at the front gate, and wanted to know where we were at, nana states that she feels fine. She got two vials of prednisone, and two scripts. They told her that her tonsils were infected as a result of the sinus drainage, well at least she feels ok. We spen pretty much the rest of the day at the MK, and it was a great day. We were able to get onto to many rides with minimal wait, great weather. Off to bed hoping that on day 3 things get back on track.

I'm enjoying your report so far. Sorry to hear that your son and your mother weren't feeling well. Hopefully they recovered and had a great time. Thanks for including pictures; I love seeing other people's vacation photos!

Great report so far! Sorry to hear about the sickness issues but it sounds like you guys handled everything very well. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more. :)

I never thought that I would be lucky enough to have my birthday celebrated in the happiest place on earth, but it just worked out for that to happen this year. I am getting old enough that birthdays are just not what they used to be, but I do have to say I did enjoy the day. For anyone who has not gotten the birthday buttons, you should try it.

On with the vacation recall. Today we went to AK. We all love this park, it is always so easy for us to spend hours here, and still not get to do everything. Always first is the safarie(sp), we try to do this early to avoid the heat. This was great as usual, loved the babies animals. We also made our first adventure on the train here, the mural you see is lovely. I also liked seeing the animal buildings. We were able to observe a mallard duck getting "fixed", what a day. Try explaining that one to the kiddies! All in all a good day. We didn't ride EE due to an 80 minute wait, and were unable to see the new Nemo show do to the wait. Thats ok, I just have good reasons to tell my dh we need to go next year. Around mid after noon we went back to the hotel to swim, and let the kids relax. For supper tonight we went to WCC. I really love the WL, and I am so envious of those who stay there. I had my birthday button on, and our server made sure to notice. Our meal was almost over, so I just figured we were not going to do anything much....not the case. He asked me to come to the front of the room, told everyone it was my birthday, then he asked me to ride one of the wooden horses around the restaurant while singing happy birthday to myself. The only thing I can say, my dh laughed so much he forgot pictures. I am still trying to figure out if that was a good or bad thing. My kids thought this was great, seeing there mom do something like this, we got some wonderful memories.

Day 4 Epcot, and my anniversary....yes we got married the day after my birthday. I am sure my dh loves me for this, but it should be easier for him to remember.

What nothing updated since JUNE!! Don't leave us hanging here!! hope all is well. ...
