Sound crazy, no?
But in our little village of Anatevka,
you might say that each one of us is a fiddler on the roof, trying to scratch out a pleasant, simple tune
without breaking his neck.
it isn't easy.
you may ask, why do we stay up there if it's so dangerous?
we stay because --Anatevka is our home.
And how do we keep our balance?
THAT I can tell you in one word --
TRADITION!
and with that, the music swells, and the cast begins to sing "traditioin", and my all-time favorite Broadway musical begins.
yep, we scored tickets for "Fiddler". I am so excited., can you tell? bought the tickets today. we see the show April 15.
"Fiddler" was the very very first Broadway musical I ever saw. I was 12 years old, and I went to see it with my grandmother, may she rest in peace. Grandma actually grew up in a shtetl like Anatevka. but I already knew the music -- you couldn't go to a wedding or bar mitzvah in those days without hearing the songs from "Fiddler."
and now I get to take my children to see it.
