Are your kids still playing with their holiday gifts? At this house the things they practically begged for in their Santa letters are more or less ignored. The toy they seem to love the most and still play with daily was an afterthought, really. It is called Marble Run and only cost about $15. They just keep building and rebuilding different configurations and letting the marbles loose. It doesn't hurt that the cat loves it, too. :)

For the most part, yes. DD is playing with her Nintendo DS pretty much every day, uses her digital camera at least once a week, and I got her a massive box of puzzles (I think there are about 12 or 14 different ones ranging from 500-1000 pieces) and she's been working nonstop on one of those since Christmas. Actually, for the first time, I can't think of anything she's not using that she received....I did a good job this year! :cool1:

DS is still playing with Guitar Hero III which was his most desired gift. He also got a new Nintendo DS because his old one fell apart. He plays it a few times a week. The other stuff he got was small and I can't remember what it was!

My 9yr old DD is still playing with her items alot. These items are American Girl Doll names "Julie", Julie's locker, and Nintendo DS - she plays with these items all the time.

My 4yr old DD is a different story. She received the American Girl Doll Bitty Twins, and they have been laying in their trundle bed, that she also got, for the last 2 weeks now (they are hibernating for the winter :rotfl: ). She also got a Leapster, and she plays with that once in a great while.

Oh well, you win some and you lose some :rotfl:

Yes, but our kids are older and got things like Ipods and guitar hero for Wii.

I remember one Christmas DS12 was then 4 and wanted the rescue ranges firetruck or something like that-it was the ONLY thing he asked for. I couldn't find it anywhere. I called all over the area to see if stores had one. I finally found one an hour away so I drove up there to pick it up. Christmas comes and DS opened it, took it out of the box, played with it for about 5 minutes and never touched it again. :lmao:

My kids got a trip to Disneyland. They are still asking to go everyday. We got sweatshirts and pins and things. They have been bringing them to show and tell. I think I did pretty well this year.:woohoo:

In a way, yes. As teenager, they mostly got clothes, DVDs and books. They're still enjoying them.

The big gift this year didn't arrive until Jan 19. That's when we finally found a Rock Band for PS2 game with the instrument bundle. They played with it non-stop until DS was grounded for neglecting his homework on Jan 25. :sad2: Since DD doesn't like to play alone, the game will be sitting untouched until Feb 15.

ETA: They LOVE their Christmas phones. Alas, DS is grounded from that, too.

Yes, every day.

It was the gaming nirvana Christmas, where Santa brought DS's and we gave them a Wii. The other presents were board games that they've played as well.

DS8 got a Wii, which he still plays with sometimes. He also got a couple of things that he loves, but can't play with. A Ravens football helmet signed by Ray Lewis, and some autographed framed photos of other Ravens players as well. He got a remote control helicopter that he played with once and hasn't touched. Other things too, that he hasn't really played with.

DS3 got trucks, and more trucks, and tractors, and matchbox cars. He plays with them everyday. He also got a tool set (for kids) that he uses to "fix stuff".

Most of the gifts I recieved were books, clothes, scrapbooking supplies and things for my room. There really isn't much I got that I use on a daily basis. I'm sitting here reading a book I got though so I suppose so.

My children are still playing with their toys everyday. My brother got my DD 8 an Ipod shuffle. I was very worried about her taking care of this. Now I think it was the best $ spent this Xmas. She loves the ipod.

Yes, my girls still love and play with most of their Christmas gifts. The American Girl dolls and accessories/clothes have been a huge hit, as well as Butterscotch the horse. Those were all money well spent. They also have loved all of their new games and books. :thumbsup2

The only thing that has been a bit of a disappointment is the Wii.

DS got Rockband and he plays with it daily. DD got the bed for Elizabeth, her American Girl doll, it's set up in her room but she doesn't really play with it. DD2 got a new kitchen and she plays with it constantly, just the other day she was trying to stuff a big Pooh into the oven but it was too big and she said, "I can't cook Pooh." :rotfl:

The Webkinz definitely get used the most. The kids play as long as we let them and we just hear them cracking up. They play together on each others accounts and have built up some pretty crazy houses.

The other hits were the Wii and Ds games (they already had the systems) and art supplies. For my youngest the shake and go cars and speedway get played with all the time, as does his toy kitchen.

American Girl gets played with the least at home, but dd takes it on every playdate because all her friends got them too. So I would still say its getting used, just not as much as I expected it would be.

Yes. DD took pictures with her camera today at the Lady Vols game--they came out great! She uses her Nintendo DS everyday (and me too as I am practicing with Brain Age) and she uses her Nano also. She had a big Christmas but is loving everything as much as any Christmas ever.

Yes, the Playstation 3, Wii games and Xbox games have been played with daily.

Can I ask where you found the marble run for $15? DS3 got a Quadrilla marble run for his birthday last week, but the basic set cost $60 and I won't travel with it (it's wood). He can be totally entranced for hours with one of those so it would be good to have a less expensive model to travel with.

DS3 has been running back and forth between his remote controlled Thomas and James engines and his train table with the battery powered Thomas cars. He's also been enjoying the books and puzzles he got (many were train-themed).

I don't think my kids have touched one Christmas gift since Christmas. They might have played their new Nitendo game once.
