We have invited my MIL to go to Vero with us next June (I think I have lost my marbles ;) ). We want to do 5 nights in a two bedroom.

Are there any 2 bdrms that have ocean views?

My MIL will be 82 and will not be able to handle stairs well. Are their elevators in the buildings? We have only stayed in the inn so we have no idea what the other buildings are like.

How hard is it to get a 2 bdrm for early to mid June at the 7 month window?

There are elevators in the buildings - my FIL was in a wheelchair during one of our stays, so that much I am certain of.

There are some ocean views, but they won't guarantee that view for you. You can certainly request it, and keep your fingers crossed.

We have booked March, August and September at the 7 month window with no problems.

Request a lock off two bedroom on an upper floor. The dedicated two bedrooms are in the front of the resort with a view of foliage and the road beyond. The lock off two bedrooms are in the back of the resort and face the ocean.

Remember that there is no guarantee that you will get the ocean view, but requesting the above will give you the best shot at it.

Thank you so much. I know this is terrible.. but just the words "lock-off" when we have my MIL with us sounds sooo well.. appealing. ;)

Actually, you should request lock-off, direct ocean view, upper floor. There are 2 two-bedrooms on each floor that face the back of the resort and have a direct ocean view, and additional two-bedrooms that face the sides of the resort where you would still be able to see the ocean from SOME windows and the balcony. But it sounds like you want a lock-off, direct ocean view, upper floor.

I thought they no longer allowed people to request ocean view because everyone requested it. Maybe I'm wrong but I believe thats what I was told.

We have stayed in June three times now and never had trouble booking a 2 bedroom.

I don't think they'll take ocean view requests anymore. The side view is also very nice. We've also had parking lot views!

We requested upper floor lock-off and got a 2nd floor unit on our past trip. You could see the ocean, but it wasn't as nice as the year before when we had a third floor side view.

I wish there was a way to be able to ensure this type of villa based on when reservations were made with preference given to DVC members. But there are so many factors (known and unknown) that go into it that it isn't possible.

FWIW - the best views are from the cottages. We stayed in one on our very first trip to VB and all other visits will be compared to that one! It was wonderful.

edited to add: our expectation is that we will always have a parking lot view so that we won't be disappointed while hoping for something better!

how about 2 rooms at the Inn instead?

I really would rather have an ocean view!

We're arriving on a Saturday and are staying in a 2 Bedroom on points, just wondering in anyone has any insight to our chances of getting an oceanview? Thanks.

I would miss the kitchen and living room and washer and dryer and extra space if I were staying in the Inn. But if you need a guarantee that you will see the ocean, then that is a good option.

We just came back from our first stay in Vero after the hurricanes of last year, and with the foliage gone, we had a great ocean view from the second floor. I would stick with the 2 bedroom villa and request lock off upper floor. If your requests are met, your chances are now better than ever that you will get at least SOME type of view of the ocean.

Having said that, I have stayed in the villas at Vero many times and I have never had a bad view. Once we checked in to find our room on the first floor with a view of trees and bushes. I was initially VERY disapointed, but once we got to the room and I saw the beautiful landscaping out my window, it turned out to be one of my favorite views.

We will be just coming off the Disney Magic and having that expense we want to have a full kitchen available to us. Also with my 82 yr old MIL with us the kitchen will also be nice as well as the fact that she would have the second bedroom to herself.

I want the 2 bedroom more than I want the ocean view.. but if there is a chance of getting both (even if it is a small chance) it would be nice (but not expected).

If the resort is fairly full, your chances are pretty low, and if you mean a good view of the ocean, extremely slim.
