I've been going to DL for over 30 years; and through the years I have learned a few things, usually the hard way!
Just thought I would share...
1. Carry a change of clothes in your tote bag. If you spill a glob of salsa or ketchup on your shirt (been there, done that), you can duck into a restroom and change.
2. I carry a cheap pair of rubber flipflops in my bag and change into them before I go on Splash. Learned this the hard way too. My regular shoes are leather and one time on Splash they got soaking wet and still weren't dry the next morning -- yucky. (If you prop your feet up on the side rails inside the boat, your feet won't get so wet.)
3. Carry a small ziploc bag with a couple of bandaids and safety pins. Sure, you may be able to find these in DL if you need them, but do you want to spend time searching for a safety pin when your zipper breaks, or walk all the way to First Aid for a bandaid? I also carry an extra shoelace because one time my shoelace broke and I had to flop around DL the rest of the day.
4. If you have short hair and will not be wearing a hat, be sure to put sunscreen on the backs of your ears and along the part in your hair. I learned this the hard way too.
5. Carry a package of baby wipes. They're good for lots of things -- dirty hands, cleaning glasses, freshening your face, cleaning a dirty seat, etc.
6. Don't forget to tip your hotel maid daily, not at the end of your trip. You won't have the same maid every day.
I hope everyone who is going to DL this year will have a wonderful time.
