Cast for this trip me and my parents. We were at SSR, Congress Park section about 10 min from DTD.
Wed 1/11
Ohanas It was my father's first time there and he enjoyed it as did my mother and I. The potatoes were really good as were the wings, shrimp and bread pudding. The steak was tender as was the turkey and pork. None of us cared for the sausage. Our server was very nice and was constantly asking if we wanted something else.
Thurs 1/12
Cape May We have enjoyed this restaurant before and it did not disappoint this time. We really enjoyed the clam chowder and the fried cod. Waitress was very good here also.
Fri 1/13
Ghiradellis for lunch. It was vacation and we had 2 for 1 coupon from reding the boards (thanks). Excellent sundaes as usual.
Earl of Sandwhich for dinner. I had the Scudutto, Mom had the original and Dad the turkey club. We also had some potato salad. Sandwiches were good but I think they would have been better if we did not go back to the room with them. Potato salad was made with dijon mustard and was ok but we would not get it again.
Sat 1/14
Park Faire for breakfast. It was fabulous and even had strawberry soup which we enjoyed immensely. Everything else was also very good. Again our server was exellent.
Artist Palette at SSR Mom and I had the turkey and brie pannini with the Saratoga chips. Sandwiches were big and tasty and the Saratoga chips (fresh made potato chips) were excellent. My dad got chili and a side of multigrain bread.
Sun 1/15
Lunch at Cosmic Rays Mom and I both had ahot dog and split fries. The hot dogs were huge and pretty good.
Dinner Artist Palette again. Mom and I had the lobster bisque soup, pepperoni flat bread an a side of Saratoga chips (a bargain at 99 cents for a large plate full and my dad had soup and bread again. All was good. We had Mickey bars after our carriage ride.
Monday 1/16
Pinocchio Haus for lunch I had the Figaro fries and they did not disappoint. Then I had a dole whip float and that was great.
Trail's End for dinner Great fried chicken and ribs. Best buffet deal on WDW property. And another attentive server.
Tuesday 1/17
Pretzel at Germany in EPCOT Not like any other pretzel I have ever had but excellent anyway and I would definately get it again.
Boma for dinner. I was waiting for this as it was our first time here and it was great! I will definately return. The soups were absolutely wonderful as were the desserts. Another fantastic server.
Wed 1/18
Lunch at Chilis, Orlando airport First hamburger of the trip and was good as usual.
Just a few observations. Even though we had early ADRs, we waited 15 minutes at almost every restaurant. The servers we had were all fantastic, not that we have really ever had a bad server at WDW but the last two trips there were several who seemed not to be enjoying what they were doing.
DDE card was the best $50 I ever spent. We saved over $60 this trip to bring it to a 3 trip total of over $200. Did not renew this year as we are hoping to try out the dining plan in Dec.
Goofy Candy Co in DTD is a really neat place. We went several times and I got freshly dipped Mickey rice krispy treats to take home that my niece and nephew loved.
