Just back today and wanted to share some good and points. My opinions are based on 2 adults with HIGH expectations. DH cooks as a hobby and I am proud to believe he can out-cook some of the chefs at WDW.

California Grill: We arrived early for a PS 7:30 dinner and landed a window table as requested. Celebrating an anniversary, we were told to really take our time if need be! Server GARY was the best ever. Thanks to the Disboards, I knew to check in on the 2nd floor to be taken upstairs. I had the wild mushroom soup (great flavor, but was thick brown soup - try it!) and the pork tenderloin. VERY well cooked and the polenta was excellent. It was more than I could eat - 4 pieces. DH had the artichoke stuffed w/ crab (he loved it) and the oak fired filet. He really enjoyed it. I had a glass of Macrosties chardonnay, although I hate how much one has to pay for a glass! The view was spectacular. The service was top-notch. We were given a piece of chocolate cake for our anniversary. Since we drove that day, we never intended to stay for the fireworks.

Rose & Crown: (Lunch) If you order from the pub menu in the restaurant, ask to SEE the menu. From wdwig's menu site, I noted the London broil sandwich and ordered it. It was $8.99 (or close) and DID NOT come with the fries I thought it should have. I did not say anything since I had a pint and did not need the food. Still, beware.... DH had the filling Guinness stew and was satisfied. I'll post another thread about the PUB changes.

Whispering Canyon - (Dinner) the food was not good at all and I was so sad since I worked there a long time ago and remember how good it once was. I will not return. See the thread on most disapointing meals.

Kimonos - (Dinner) sushi in the Swan - The tuna was not up to par, but the eel was good. The karaoke began at 9PM and this little boy was up there making us sick. It was almost impossible to get our check.

Le Celier - (Lunch) Good, but the cheese soup is not all that. I LOVED the new salmon salad. DH does NOT recommend the Asian noodles that accompany the chicken sandwich. They are not Asian - more like a cold, pasta salad w. mayo - thicker, round noodles. The slaw was great. Watch out--they LOVE ground black pepper.

Staring Rolls Bakery at MGM - Oh my gosh. They were not thinking when they redesigned this place. It is one big cluster trying to get your roll/danish out of a help-yourself cabinet, then a separate counter for drinks, then another counter--not in the right order--to pay. EVERYONE was complaining! Such disorganization and still no more seating outside.

All in all, the food at WDW is not all that I think it could be given the $ spent and the talent it attracts. This is my humble opinion. I'm sad that the food quality was not higher.

I agree with you on Whispering Canyon. We have eaten there 3 times, and won't go back. The food was bland all 3 times we went. And honestly, the yelling for ketchup gets annoying after a while!

Thanks for your reviews! We dined at CG for an anniversary dinner and just loved it too. Just wondering if the Whispering Canyon meal you had was dinner or lunch? I was hoping to take the kids there for lunch on our Sept trip as we've never been and it sounds like they'd have a good time, but I wanted to go during lunch as its slightly less expensive than dinner.

My meal at WC was dinner. You may want to ask the board what lunch is like. Thanks for your question!

My husband and i would like to go to whispering Canyon to try it one night just because we have heard it is fun. BUT... Lately we have been hearing some poor reports on the food.
What would you suggest to order? Should we just go for drinks and appetizers just to check the place out?
