First I want to say that the trip was great. My parents, brother and his family and the tigger family all went and had a great time. Yes, it was hot (hello, its Florida in July), yes, it was crowded (hello, its July), and yet everybody in our party had a wonderful time.
We stayed at the CBR and as usual everything was great. The baggage service was a bit slower but nothing to write and complain about. Mousekeeping did a great job and left all sorts of towels done in assorted characters, my dad and mom celebrated their 5oth anniversary and my dad's birthday there and had special treats in their room and of course the kids (including the author here) got to be kids.
Now the rants.
At the food court at the CBR there was a rather rude gentleman who declared that since he had stayed there 7 times he should have better service. Now I've only been there twice but I thought the service was great, the staff friendly and you know what...ITS VACATION. I didn't need to hear about how horrible this guy thought the service was and while I am all for sharing, this would not be one of the things to share with the entire food court (and he was loud enough to do just that).
The weather. People, its JULY IN FLORIDA. Its hot and humid. The parks are crowded. Due to school I'm forced to go in the summer. I'm sure that most people with kids are too. If you're without children then go at a different time and quit whining! If you're going to go in June, July and August remember, its hot and kids and families are going to add to the crowds.
The lines. Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Universal, Six Flags and the Seattle Center have lines. Its part of the theme park experience. Deal with it. Use FastPass and don't cheat. Hit the rides when there is a parade, the lines are way shorter. There are many many books out there with all sorts of hints, read them!
Ok, enough ranting...I am probably going back next year and then in two years spending my 25th anniversary at Disney.
