A few random questions

Hi everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knew the answers to any of these questions.

1. There are a few things that I might have to send ahead of time bc I won't be able to carry them on the plane with me. I was told I can't send them to Francs. Do I just send them to the resort I'm staying and if so how far in advance? Has anyone had any experience with this? I'm a bit nervous about having to do this.

2. My fiance and I requested a specific DJ at our planning session, about when do we find out if he's available? Would we also be able to speak to him?

3. My fiance and I received the cd of our engagement pics from Randy. We had wanted to put a collage of some of the pics at the entrance of the reception. I asked around at some of the photo processing places by me and no one does this. Do any of you know anywhere online that might do this?

Thanks again for any answers you have. :goodvibes

I can answer about the shipping. I've never shipped to Disney but have to ship boxes to a lot of hotels for work. You should have it arrive a few days before (maybe 2 so they have enough time to process its arrival but not too long that they are holding on to it for a while). Put your name, arrival date, and reservation number on a label on the outside of the box(es). Then ask for it when you check in. They will either send you where you need to pick it up at the resort, or have it brought to the front for you. You could probably have bell services bring it up to your room too.

I ship boxes to Disney on every trip and also did so for our vow renewal. I ship UPS and you can go on their website to get an estimate date of arrival and price. UPS ground has always been the cheapest for me to ship things from NY to WDW. You have to put your resort name and address and the name the ressie is under, also you could put your ressie # and date of arrival on there too. That's what I do. The resort sometimes charges you a fee of around $10 and they will have your box when you arrive and bring it to your room. Just tell the front desk when you arrive you had a package delivered. Sometimes we don't get charged a fee and the box is waiting at the front desk. Also, it usually takes 3 business days for my package to arrive and remember they don't deliver on the weekends. So, if you check in on a Sunday make sure your package arrives on the Friday before. They will hold it for you, don't worry. That's when you writing the arrival date on the box comes in hand!

You can then drop off your box of items at Francs, just call or email your planner telling them you want to do this. I met my planner the morning of with my stuff and explained how I wanted everything, like the place cards, etc...

It took only a few weeks to hear back that we got the DJ we requested. Once I knew we had him booked, I emailed him. We coresponded through email a bunch of times and he was great with responding quickly. He sent me a form to fill out with song selections too.

Sorry I can't help with the pictures. But, how big of a collage are we talking about? I would be worried about shipping it. Have you asked Randy if he could do something like that for you and bring it to Francs? I'm assumimg he is your photographer for the wedding too.

It's the resorts with convention centers that charge a fee for receiving packages. You can either pick it up from the business center or have them deliver it, but you must be in the room (and then you kinda have to tip them). The fees are $3 for packages up to 4 lbs, $5 for packages 5-20 lbs., and $10 for 21-70 lbs.
