A Few Questions

I've been searching on the boards for a while this morning and can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for.

1. We leave in 4 days and have our new Magic Bands ready to go. I have heard you can use bands from previous trips as well. Is this true? If so, is there something I need to do that links the old bands to our latest trip? You know - so we can color coordinate our bands to our outfits. Ha! But seriously was just wondering if that was an option.

2. We have water park tickets this time around. For a family of 5, which park do people prefer? Is one park better than the other or are they both great in their own right? We might be able to squeeze both of the water parks in, but if we can only do one of them I wanted to know, which park y'all like better.

Bands from previous trips can be connected, if their battery still works (no way to know unless you try on site). They are supposed to last about 1-2 years max.

If you want to connect them, the front desk at your hotel can confirm that both sets of bands are activated.

I can't offer anything on waterparks...

Did you use the same MDE account and person for the previous trips? If so you should be able to log in and see all of your previous bands and if they are linked to your name they will work.

Can't help you on the water parks, they aren't my thing.

Yes - we used our usual MDE account. I can see all the bands (and card) from past trips in my account. Just didn't know if they automatically link or what. Thanks for the help!

Both waterparks are great. You will enjoy either one. Most people seem to prefer BB to TL, but they are very similar.

We only tried BB and it was awesome!

Nothing like being in a snowy themed park when it's 90+ degrees out and being able to ride a ski lift.

If you see the previous MBs on your MDE account, they're linked and good to go. No guarantee the battery hasn't died, though.

I believe Blizzard Beach closes for its annual refurb in early Oct.

Even with a dead battery, the bands will perform their primary functions: admission, FP+, opening doors.

The battery powers the long-range transmitter, which would affect MM ride photos, and Disney's "tracking" data.

Haven't done BB, but LOVE Typhoon Lagoon! It's beach and wave pool are awesome . . . I hear there's more shade there, too, than at BB.

The magic bad question has been answered. I guess it depends on how old your kids are as to which water park to go to. Typhoon Lagoon has a snorkel with the fish/sharks included so this might be something fun. Blizzard Beach has the summit plummet drop for extra thrills. It also has a ski lift so you don't have to walk up the stairs all day. (but the line might be a bit longer during peak times.)
