I'm writing my plans/tips up for when i next go... 4 weeks today :cool1: We missed out quite a lot last time as it was our first time there and it was SO cold and often wet that I guess we were trying to get indoors most of the time and since then I've heard about a few things I never even noticed or knew about so i'm hoping someone can help and explain what and where they are.

- Is Snow White's Scary Adventures a ride or like a story type thing? That's even if i have the right name for it

- What are the keelboats and riverboats or are they the same thing and where?

- Storybook boat ride, i never noticed this at all last time lol.

- Railroad- is this the little train that goes to each land?

- Are there cable cars?

- Final last question lol.. I heard something about like a train ride that actually goes through the POTC ride as part of its route. Is this the railroad or something else?

1) At DLRP its called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. And it's a ride like Peter Pans etc

2) Two different things, based on the lake where BTM is.

3) In between IASW and Alice in Wonderland (if I remember correctly)

4) That's right

5) No there aren't

6) It's the Railroad that goes through POTC

The Snow white ride is a ride- similar to Pinochio if you did that. Its in Fantasyland next to Pinochio - more or less the first ride as you go in from the castle.

The keelboats are small boats - seat about 20 people - set off from near the Pocahontas playground but they dont run all the time
The riverboats are large boats which set off from near Phantom Manor
Both go round the big lake round thunder mountain

Storybook ride and Casey Junior and down a pathway in Fantasyland between Alices Maze and Small world

Railroad is the train that goes round the park - there are stations in all lands except Adventureland. You can stay on as long as you want and get off when you want. It goes through the POC ride, you can see the storybook ride and Casey from it and also one or 2 other things only seen from the train

There are no cable cars

The snow white thing is a ride, we never got the chance to go on this so can't tell you much more about it, but think it's similar to Peter Pan and Pinnocchio.

We never noticed the storybook boats either, but they sound nice. Where is this? I know Fantasyland, but if anyone can tell me exactly where I'd appreciate it.

Yes the railroad has a station in each land and you can get off and on wherever you want.

I've never seen any cable cars

Not sure about the train ride either sorry.

Its a ride, very similar to pinocchio, you sit in little cars and go through the haunted woods and see old witchy and things.

- What are the keelboats and riverboats or are they the same thing and where?

The riverboats are big paddles steamers that do a cirlce aroung thunder mountai. The keelboats are like little huck finn boats that do a similar tour but through little nooks on crannies (never been on them so I might be wrong)

- Storybook boat ride, i never noticed this at all last time lol.

Down the ride hand side of Alices labyrinth is a little path leading to this nd casey jnr. Lovely litle ride, on small world type boats and you sail past models of different disney castles and things - definitely worth a ride!

- Railroad- is this the little train that goes to each land?

Yup, although not so little. Pretty large stam trains, stop in each land (except adventureland - where it does go through a part of POTC - answer to qestion below) Very fun but long waits at busy times :(

- Are there cable cars?

No, sadly not
- Final last question lol.. I heard something about like a train ride that actually goes through the POTC ride as part of its route. Is this the railroad or something else?

See above :)

My questions were answered as I was typing my response, thanks guys!!

Wooo thanks so much everyone for all the amazing and speedy replys!! :yay:
I've got it all wrote down now. It all sounds great!! This forum is like a total life saver  I've learnt SO much from it and loads of useful tips.
I think my mam and grandma will really enjoy some of those boatrides too because they are nice and calm and enjoyable.

The storybook ride was probably closed last time you went (I see it was December) as it's usually closed in winter. It certainly was closed in December 06 - Belle's Christmas Village was at the top of the path that takes you down to the storybook ride and Casey Jr, and the path was closed off.

It was open when we went at Christmas

When we went in February this year Storybook Ride (LPDCDF) was open as was Casey Jr, but this was a real surprise as they weren't in previous Februarys. (2004-2007)

The train ride goes through the back of POTC and you can look down onto one part of the ride, but (POTC) riders may not even notice if they don't happen to look up at that moment.

Snow White reminds me of an old style fairground Ghost Train with the jerky movements and dark bits.

Oh, ignore me then!

It would be great if it's open at Christmas this year - my daughter loves it and I've told her it will be closed which she was disappointed about.

The only thing I will say is that I found getting into the Storybook boats quite difficult! You've got to be a bit quick because they keep moving whilst you're getting on them....

Very true, especially in the rain! I've seen a few people slip over trying to get into them in the rain which is always :lmao: as long as it isn't you!

Hi Ashleigh :)

I've just bought the Simon Veness guidebook after seeing a rec on here for it - got it off Amazon - link below - it's really quite good - a bit mushy in sections but the tips are fab and it goes into a good amount of detail.

Not sure if you'd find it useful....

Damn, I don't think my grandma can manage that then. Can the CM's stop it? Because we had the same problem with Phantom Manor but they briefly stopped it to let my grandma get in properly.

I honestly don't know.... You could always ask I suppose. I will say I didn't see them pausing it for anyone, it sort of goes in a continuous loop....

If you have a disabled ride pass then they take you to a special loading area, then they stop the boats for you to get in. I'm not sure if they'd stop it for a non-disabled guest though.

That's good then, thanks. :goodvibes

Although the Storybook ride was open every day we were there in June, they did close the ride during persistent and heavy rain - presumably for the safety reasons capnjack mentioned earlier.
