Hello!

Just getting a few last minute questions in.

Are flipflops permitted in the park? I assume you can wear flipflops and they are acceptable for all the rides? If not, do they permit you to take them off and go barefoot for the rides? I couldnt really think of any rides in Disney that dangle or anything where flipflops would be a problem.

Has anyone ever rented an SUV from Alamo? This is what we have rented and were getting alittle nervous. We have 3 adults 1 17 yr old a a 7 yr old. We are alittle concerned our luggage wont fit. On the website I rented from breezenet.com it doesnt even give us an example of an SUV we might get. Also, has anyone had their price change when they got there? I got an AMAZING price we are there 1 week plus a day and got an SUV for 207.00 from Alamo. Right now its going for 430.00 and thats what I was seeing on all other websites. I got it from breezenet.com and do have paper confirmation listing the price but we dont pay until we get there and we are hoping the price doesnt go up.

I think thats it.

We are so anxious! :cool1:

Yes, flip flops are allowed in the parks. Just be careful since a lot of people step on your toes and heels when they are in a rush.

I am not sure about the SUV but if you are someone who always wears flip flops, then I absolutly reccomend them in the parks. I went during April vacation (ccrroowwddeedd) and I wore flip flops and I never got blisters or my feet steped on. You don't even need to take them off during the rides!

That is a BIG difference in price. Maybe you should call and ask if the price can or does change after your reservations are made. I wouldn't think they could because that would be like bait and switch but who knows these days.

Thanks for the replies!

My 17 yr old dd is deffinatly planning on wearing flipflops and she just wanted to make sure she would be allowed on all the rides or permitted to take them off if not.

I did call Alamo this morning. They said my price is still 207.00 plus 40.00 because we are getting a child seat for my 7 yr old ds. Here in PA you have to be in a child seat until your 8 and I feel much better about him being in a seat in FL. I thought it was a bit expensive since I could buy a booster for less than that but what can you do. I was just very surprised I got it for 207 when today the same thing is going for 430.00 +.

Yes you can do the flip flops, Great for AK on the kali river rapids. Who wants soaked socks and shoes. I mean bath tub soaked. I wore flip flops at that park my only complaint is that it did not give lots of support so my legs and feet hurt at the end of the day. We also wore them to the water parks.

About the SUV--we have an expedition-there is NO room for luggage--we have a bag for top that we stuff all of our luggage in. Aks if the SUV has a luggage rack on top and then you might want to go and buy or borrow a bag for the top. A little side note-just filled my SUV up, we live in NC and it cost $75.00, it's going cost us a small fortune to go see that mouse!!

1-yes, your dd can wear flip flops but I highly recommend you take another pair of comfy shoes in your pack for when she starts complaining that her feet hurt!!! I wore 'running sandals' (like Tevas) for AK on Kali.

2-We rented a 'mid-sized SUV' with Alamo. When you show up, you get your choice of any mid-size SUV they have. They have several different types available. They're all parked in a row, you walk up to the one you want, keys are in and away you go. We had a Buick Rendezvous. There were also Jeep Libertys and a mid-sized Chevy SUV. No, they didn't change our price. We booked on the internet with the internet special rate.

3-Don't rent the car seats, just take yours! You can sky check them right at the gate or check them with your regular luggage. The airline will wrap them in plastic for you and they don't count against your total allowable luggage. Same goes for strollers. We took ours and, while a bit cumbersome, it was better than paying the extra and our kids were in their own comfy seat that we knew were safe and knew how to install.

I absolutely live in flipflops in the summer, but I would never wear them to the parks. You will walk and walk and then walk some more. Flip flops may be alright the first day, but running/ tennis shoes or something with some arch support and shock absorption will really save your daughter's feet in the long run.

I second bringing your own car seat! $40 to rent one is a rip-off and with your own, your child will feel more comfortable.

Flipflops are the only thing I ever wear when I go to Disney. If you can get the ones with a little bit thicker sole (I don't mean the ones with the 3 inch soles) it is best, if you can't, I would suggest taking 2 or 3 pairs of the regular ones - with so much walking, they tend to wear down.
