Hello All
My family and I are going to be @ the Fort from May 28th to June 3rd.... This will be my boys first visit to Disney and our first time at the Fort.... We will be staying in the cabins. I am so very excited.

I have been lurking here for a long time and just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the AWESOME info.

I do have a few questions:

1 Does anyone have any pic's of the pool areas?
2. What is the deal with the quiet pool? Are kids allowed in it?

Anywho, thanks again for all the great info..... :worship:

Quiet pool at the Fort? What is this anomaly of which you speak? ;)

There is a thread here that has awesome pool pictures, and a poster named Tri-Circle-D (TCD) is the man to go to for photos -- he's pretty good with info, too.

I think you're talking about the cabin area pool as being the "quiet" one. I've never heard of kids not being allowed in that pool.

if you look though pic of the day fort there are pic of the pool area

Since the OP is a fellow Tampa Bay resident, here are a few photos of the main pool:

That should cover it, but let me know if you need more.

There is no "quiet" pool at the Fort.

There is a smaller pool located near the cabin loops.

Give me a couple minutes, and I'll see if I can dig up some photos of that pool for you . . .

And the best part of the pool is that it is open 24 hours, so you can take that late evening dip after a day in the park. They close the slide & I think the hot tub at night though.

Sorry, but I only have two photos of the cabin pool readily available:

There you go, Newbie.

What other questions do you have?

Funny you should mention that.

I have a disturbing bit of news to report about the pool hours. . .

In April 2009, this is what it said in the Fort Wilderness Gazette (look under the heading about the pools):

fwgazette.jpg

Yep, that says pools are open 24 hours.

But, in late 2009, the FW Gazette was replaced by a little publication called the Directory of Services.

This is what that document said about the pool hours in April, 2010:

This says the pools now are closed from midnight until 7 am!

This has not yet been an issue for me, and I don't know if it is being enforced.

But the official pool hours have changed!

And, we are comparing April, 2009 to April, 2010, so it isn't a seasonal thing.

OK, I'll check it out when I down there. I did notice on both my Aug/Sep and my November trips last year, they closed of the slide (which i think they do that after the life guard had gone for the day), but I was only in the pool to about 11:something at the latest. And, of course, I never actually read any of the signs.

If someone finds out before me (the enforcement of the hours), let us know.

Yes, the slide and hot tubs have had official closing times in the past.

I believe at the Wilderness Lodge, they close the slide at dusk.

But, they definitely had the FW slide open after dark last month. I'm sure they close it off before midnight, though.

The word here on the Disboards was that the hot tub closing times were not enforced in the past. It was probably a situation where they posted the times so they could kick folks out if needed.

But, now that they are publishing a midnight closing time for the pools, who knows?

They call the cabin pool, the "quiet" pool. It's usually less crowded, but as you can see from the pics it doesn't have the cool stuff.
Kids are allowed in both pools.

WOW guys thanks.... I heard a rumor that the camping board was the nicest...... guess its true....:yay:

Tri - Circle D thanks so much for the pic's.... Guess there are a few advantages to living in tampa bay....:cheer2:

Thank you to everyone else as well...... :flower3:

Pretty sure the quiet pool is the main pool,,(between the hours of 2:AM and 5:AM.:thumbsup2

Tri-circle-D, you sure do have a lot of great pictures of the pool area. I'm thinking you must have a lot of other WDW pictures.
Now I know where to go for WDW pictures because I don't have any, not one.
