Hello everyone.

I have begun to plan my DFTW and I had a few questions that I couldn't find answered specifically on the board. I apologize for repeats.

Our game plan is for Thursday September 6th at 2:30 at SBP, so these questions pertain to that specific locale. It is just my honey and me. And we are hoping to book Randy for photography (so we'd be doing photographs at the Swan Resort where we are staying, at SBP and at GF.

1. Is it windy? I know to a degree that depends on the weather. BUT, I live on the water and it always seems to have a breeze. I ask b/c this will help me determine wether or not I want a "loose hairstyle" or and "up do" and also whether or not I'll be wearing a veil or just a tiara.

2. Where is the cake/champaigne served? Is it right there at SBP at the gazebo? Or do you go indoors?

3. If you don't have guests, and you don't eat all the cake (which we wont) does someone box it up for you? I'm assuming we will just have to stash it in the limo and hope the top doesn't melt.

Any other tips or suggestions are very much appreciated. My hubby and I got engaged, and the found out we were expecting a baby the day we went to put the money down on the mansion we were going to have our reception at. (They had a no-refund policy, so I'm glad we found out before we wrote that check!). So we eloped and didn't tell anyone because our families are quite crazy. Now the proud parents of an adorable baby girl, we are just doing something small for the two of us so that I get to have a "dream wedding" while not breaking the bank. Money is tight b/c daycare is expensive!!!!

Thanks ladies!

Welcome, and congratulations! :wave2:

The only answer I know is that they serve cake and champagne right at SBP. If you check out Maggimus' fabulous wedding pictures, you'll see the cake setup.

You are right...that can vary. For our wedding on Sept. 20 it was hot and VERY humid. It's hard to really answer that question. I think go with whatever you are comfortable with and hope for the best!

SBP is quite large and therefore allows for the cake/champagne reception to be right there. There are a few chairs and at least one table (maybe two).

Yes, your coordinator will box it up for you...but if you want to save any part of it for a trip home, see what else can be done. The box they will put it in will probably not make a trip home. You can ask at your resort about having it wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and foil and you might want to take some kind of rubbermaid/tupperware thing to bring home the top if you want. Some other brides have managed to save the top layer for their first anniversary, and hopefully they'll stop by and give you more insight on that.

I hope that helps some! Congratulations on getting your dream wedding...and let us know if you have any other questions!!
