Why can't we delete posts and threads ourselves?

Yea, I've always wondered that too.. Do you have any idea how many times I've screwed up on posts and just want to delete them?

I've made a lot of stupid posts that I just don't want people to see.

It also would help when someone accidentally double or triple posts, or makes 2-3 of the same threads, because they are having server problems.

I've done that soo many times, so I have to be slick and go back and edit it so it doesn't look like I screwed up..
