A few questions about SSR....

We're new members and just made out first reservation for June 05. We wanted OKW 1br, but could only get SSR.

1. Is there daily housekeeping of any kind (make beds, refresh towels, etc) or is that only done at an additional charge?

2. Are towels available at the pool areas, or do you need to bring them from your room?

3. How noisy is SSR at night...Can you hear DTD?

4. Early reviews from ALLEARSNET were citical about the volume of construction underway. Is that still the case, or does the resort seem to be "complete"?

Welcome to DVC and the DIS!
1) If you have your have your member handbook, it explains the housekeeping. If you don't-for stays of 7 nights or less, you will get trash and towel service-replace towels, take out the trash, etc, on day 4. For stays of 8 nights or more you will get full cleaning service on day 4 and trash and towel service on day 8. Daily housekeeping is available w/24 hr notice and a fee!
2) Yes, towels are available at the pool, you do not need to bring your own.

3) SSR is not noisy at night. I suppose it may depend on how close you are to DTD, but I was pretty close and it wasn't noisy. They have very brief fireworks at midnight, but the nights I've been asleep before that, they did not bother me at all.

4) I've seen the reviews on allears, this was reviewed very early on the construction process, they've come a long way w/the construction. There is no noise from this, it is not distracting. And a lot of the construction that was going on when she reviewed it, has been completed, but there is more as the resort is not finished yet.
