Well, my DH called MS today. We asked about the cancellation policy. The cm stated that we would have to call on a specific date (which was the day before our check-in) to cancel. He asked her what would happen if we cancelled after that, she said we would still have to pay for it. What's kind of strange is that she didn't ask for a credit card. How could they charge us if they don't have a credit card?
Did you ask about cancelling the entire reservation or just about cancelling the dining plan?
If you cancel the entire reservation, the use of the dining plan is moot. You should not be charged for it. However, if you are cancelling the entire reservation the day before your check-in, you will also lose your points.
If you just wish to cancel the dining plan option, you must remove it from your reservation by the deadline for cancelling it. If you don't cancel before the deadline, you will be charged for the dining plan when you arrive (it will be billed to your reservation and you will have to pay for it, because they won't remove it at check-in).
