Hi all, I have been reading the boards and there are some very helpful tips and advice for DLP – THANKS!

OK, I need advice,

DS, DP and I are heading over to Paris on the 1st October. So far I only have the flights booked.

Firstly, I was wondering if any of you would know how I would get from Beauvais (I didn’t realize it was so far out when I booked) to the resort? I heard there is a private company shuttle bus, and have looked online and have heard bad reviews so I don’t know whether I should get the train (if there is one) or bus to Paris then get the metro? Can anyone advise? Do the shuttles run regulary from the airport – what if one doesn’t connect after my arrival into the airport?

I am thinking of booking into the Explorer hotel (just off site) does anyone have any experience of this hotel?

I also haven’t booked Disney passes, can anyone tell me where I would get these? Do I got to a booth and purchase them on the day or should I book them online? I think id want a 3 day pass (maybe fastpass?) do I get these from the Disney website?

I would be eternally gratefully to anyone who can answer the above q’s. I seem to be tying myself in knots and going around in circles.

Thanks

Emma

There are 2 options:
1) Take the bus from the airport to Paris "Porte Maillot" ~ Then from "Porte Maillot" take the Metro* line 1 (in the direction of "Chateau de Vincennes") just a couple of stops to the station "Charles de Gaulle Etoile" ~ And from here take the RER A (in the direction of "Marne La Vallee Chessy") to the last stop - "Marne La Vallee Chessy" (copied from useful info FAQ) for 3 people this would cost around €50 (one way)
2) Use a private shuttle. BS transports charge €130 (one way) from Beauvis to Disney. www.bstransports.com

I personally would use the private shuttle, getting a bus to paris and then a train to Disney will take well over 2hrs and involves too many connections. It wouldn't be a fun journey with a child and luggage.

I am thinking of booking into the Explorer hotel (just off site) does anyone have any experience of this hotel? I've not stayed there but many people have, the pool area looks fantastic! Apparently this is a good hotel for kids. You can read reviews of it if you click HERE

I also haven’t booked Disney passes, can anyone tell me where I would get these? Do I got to a booth and purchase them on the day or should I book them online? I think id want a 3 day pass (maybe fastpass?) do I get these from the Disney website? You can buy tickets from your hotels reception or at the park gates. Fastpass is included in all tickets. It's just a way of avoiding queues for the bigger attractions. You stick your park ticket in a machine and it gives you a printed slip telling you to come back at a certain time. When it's your time slot you turn up to the ride and can go through the fastpass line (instead of the main one). This will take you to near the front of the waiting line)

I would be eternally gratefully to anyone who can answer the above q’s. I seem to be tying myself in knots and going around in circles.

Thanks

Emma

Hope this helps

Hi Emma and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

Have a look at our hotel faq for details of Hotel Explorer and also Ware Bear's trip report since she has stayed at this hotel a few times.

As you are looking at 3 days worth of passes it might be worth while giving consideration to Annual Passports. THere is a separate thread regarding sponsoring that can save you money, so I'll not say anything about that here.
Approx the Fantasy AP is €1 dearer than a 3 day hopper pass. You then have other benefits with the AP.

have you considered staying onsite, as park passes are included with the hotels on site? may save you some money in the scheme of things, plus with a DS (not sure of age) it might be handy for popping back to during the day

We stayed at Explorers and really liked it. We have also stayed at Holiday Inn- next door - and liked that as well. We would stay at either of the hotels again.
How old is your DS? Are you aware under 7s go free at the moment (I think only if you stay in a Dis hotel booked as a package) so you could possibly stay at Santa Fe or Cheyenne for approx the same price. However these 2 hotels dont have swimming pools whereas the Explorers has a great pool and play area for children.
As already mentioned you could get Annual passes for not much more than a 3 day pass but really need to stay off site if intending getting these as its really difficult to get room only without AP already. Again under 7s are free

Have fun planning. Its a big part of the holiday

Thanks everyone for the replies!

hAPPY tAPPY - OR ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY KNOW (sorry caps) does the bus from Beauvais to Paris come regularly? Think I might get the train on the way there - not too sure tho! Does I have to pre-book it?

Again, thanks for the replies, you lot are a mine of information!

I cant wait to go away!!!

I've never done the journey myself but all the information you should need can be found here: http://www.beauvais-airport.com/Disneyland-Paris/Public-Transportation.php

It says it can take upto 3 1/2 hours depending on the time of day :scared1:

The bus comes for every arrival so it should be waiting for you when you land.

i know a site that does the passes for at least £10 - 15 less than any other website, but im not sure if im allowed to give it on here lol... PM me and ask for details...

Kids indeed only stay free with a hotel package, otherwise you need to pay the children's price for them.
And the deal is different in several countries, in Belgium (where I live), for instance children under 6 go free, not 7 like in the UK.

Personally I think that staying in Santa Fe will just be easier.
