I am not good at reviews, so I will just give my thoughts.

Feels good in my hands. I find that I am having a learning curve with this camera. Not that it is necessarily difficult, but adjusting the the rotational wheel when I change my ISO, as I shoot mostly in AV mode, I tend to hit other buttons. Although, with using it quite a bit earlier this week, I have much improved.

I LOVE super-zoom cameras, and this one doesn't disappoint me. And while it is not going to give me DSLR-like results, I am satisfied with what it gives me.

Here is a good example of zoom power. This was the first pics taken with this camera.

See the church in the background, it has a steeple.

Here is the top of the steeple. Yeah, not the greatest, but I can actually see the insects flying around. (when I was reviewing pics on the camera, I actually thought the spots where dirt. I was surprised to see bugs!!!)

We visited upstate PA Monday and Tuesday. Went to Benzette to see the elk, and then to Kinzua State Park.

Do you mean the rotational wheel up on top, where all of the settings are?

Great photos! Do the settings/options seem similar to the 3SIS? Have you tried the "fisheye" feature yet? That intrigues me. :goodvibes

No, not the wheel on top, the wheel on the back, where you adjust your speed, Fstop, WB, etc. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...oductId=1218382128420&viewtype=backView&h=387

I have only taken 1 fisheye photo. Turned out a little dark. My fault. Not worthy of posting;).

Still enjoying your new camera? Any thoughts to share now that you've had it a while??

Enjoying it very much!!! Much better at not hitting buttons when changing setting with the wheel!!!

Haven't had any opportunities for shooting anything lately. I forget, did you end up getting one?

No, I haven't gotten one yet. Hoping my 3S continues to hold out until for a bit longer, then I'll be getting a new one. Maybe after the holidays.

Well, my 3S is getting sicker and sicker. Just suddenly closes for no reason at all. Any other comments on your SX40 before I take the plunge and buy one? :)

I would ask if you have looked at the Panasonic FZ200?

Fixed aperature f/2.8 out to max zoom is game changing in the bridge camera world (fixed aperature super zoom is the sort of glass most DSLr owners only dream of one day owning). Sure the SX40 was a top bridge camera in July, but now....
