A few newbie questions

This may be a silly question, but do the magic bands open up the cabin doors? Because they are outside doors, do they work differently?

Also, we are getting a golf cart so does it really matter what loop we are assigned? I plan on doing online check in this week and have never been so I'm going off a map.

Hi Jillily, yes the magic bands will open your cabin door, they work like any other hotel room door. As far as the cabin loops, they are 2200-2800, I have stayed in the cabins just a few times for 1 or 2 nights so I wasn't really bothered with the locations I was assigned. Some loops are closer to the quiet pool while others are closer to the Outpost, having a cart will definitely make it easier for you no matter where you are assigned though.

You can't request a loop in online check in anymore. Last year we did but it's changed recently. You could still call to add a loop request to your reservation.

Loop requests are more of an issue if you have special requirements. For many folks the requirement is "Proximity" to whatever it is that concerns them. Some it's the pool, some it's the bus stop, others it's the "Settlement" (and the boats). If you have a cart, it does make location less of a concern. Other concerns are noise, size, scenery, etc... (I know the DW is not thrilled about being at a loop/site where the canal runs near by it) So really, it's boils down to what you really want in the site.

Even though you can have your request noted on your reservation, it's not a guarantee.... it's just a request and the CMs will try and accommodate it if they can.
