Sorry if you are getting fed up of me and my questions, but I am finding more things to ask about the closer we get to going.

We have booked a room in an Etap hotel/motel in Liege (Belgium) for the night before so that we don't have to get up at the crack of dawn and travel from Northern Germany all the way to Disney. I know that we would all be very frazzled by the time we arrived, not to mention the fact that we would miss half of our first day. This will do the bulk of the journey the day before, leaving us (hopefully) calm and rested on the Monday. It was only €43 for the room, but my first question is, has anyone ever stayed in one before and what should I expect? I'm assuming it's kind of like a travel lodge.

From Liege to Disney it appears to be a further 2.5 ish hours. So we are going to aim to arrive at the Santa Fe at around 11am so that we can drop our luggage off and then get our tickets and head to the park. My second question is, how do we get into the Disney complex to get to Santa Fe car park.....will we have a special pass thing? At the mo all we have is our booking confirmation forms, but I'm sure the Travel Agent said that the week prior to the trip we would get a voucher to hand in at check in...I didn't think to ask how we accessed the place though!

Thirdly, does anyone have the exact address for Disney (pref the Santa Fe) as no matter how I try, on all of the route planners like AA and Mapquest, it isn't recognised. It appears to be able to recognise Marne La Vallee on our Sat Nav but I'd sooner have the precise co ordinates if poss.

Thanks and sorry again for asking more q's!

hi there,

i have found coordinates for the entrance of hotel santa fe from google maps - 48.872367,2.795256

if you put this into google maps it shows you where the santa fe hotel is

hope this helps :goodvibes

I have stayed in Etap hotels in Paris with my children. They are very basic and the rooms are small, but in my experience they are clean and perfect if you are just looking for a stopover. All the rooms have ensuite facilities and a tv, but there are no tea/coffee facilities or any luxuries. Should be fine for your overnight stay.

We drove to Disney for the first time a few weeks ago. When we arrived at the Cheyenne, there was a barrier and a security guy in a hut. All we had to do was show him our booking confirmation and he let us through. He directed us to a temporary car park until we had checked in, at which point we moved to the long term park nearest our room. I am sure the same will go for the Santa Fe.

That's correct :) It is the same procedure at all the Disney hotels :goodvibes

post code for Disneyland Paris for sat navs or route finders is 777777
It's just five sevens, but that's only the P.O. box and difficult to navigate to, so it might not be found by route planners.

With 77770 you're on the safe side, as the official address of DLRP is Boulevard du Parc, 77770 Magny le Hongre

Hiya,

if you go to www.theaa.com check the Europe option on the route planner you need to put the destination as Disneyland Paris and a list of directions comes up with no problems.

Cheers,
Tessa

Thanks for your replies people.
I have another question if you don't mind?

My son is Cars film mad, he has literally all of the die casts and knows the film word for word (!). I was just reading some info on a different forum and it was saying how the Luigi and Guido models have been fenced off so it is now not possible to have photos taken with them in the background, is this right? Is it possible to have any photos with the cars in the background at all? I really hope there is a way to do it, he would be so disappointed if not.
14 sleeps to go.....

I'm sure he can have his pics taken with some of the stars from Cars - I've seen recent photos on this website with just such pictures.

Troops had their pictures taken at the cars ride. Have a look at my July 2007 photos in my link :goodvibes

Thanks Reid for showing me the pics....I guess what the perso on the other forum meant was those yellow barrier type things...I thought it meant big fences!

I PROMISE a fantastic trip report when we get back will *hopefully* make up for all of my questions!

I am taking a notebook so that each night I can sit down and sum up our day's worth of experiences to post on here, and also maybe make up a little scrapbook for ds so that he can look back on it!

Another question, sorry if it's a silly one, but my brochure is all in German and whilst I can 'get by' conversationally in German, I can't read it all that well.

Does the Santa Fe have towels? Is it worth taking our own just incase?

Couple more whilst I think of it...

Will we be able to get a 15th Anniversary autograph book in the Santa Fe shop? (someone posted previously about a special edition one with space for photos next to the signatures). This way we'll have it from the very start just incase we encounter some disney dudes on the way in to the parks.

Is Pirates Of The Carribean ride suitable for an almost 4 year old? It seems a bit 'dark', and ds is a bit of a wimp!

Will we be able to use the 'baby switch' facility if we choose to go on the big rides, seeing as ds isn't a 'baby'?

6 more sleeps..........:yay:

It's not a silly question at all, you can never be prepared enough :)

Santa Fe has towels, but if you like loads of them it can't hurt to bring a few extra. My bf and I nearly always stay there and we've never needed to bring extra towels though.
But that's just the two of us, I'm not entirely sure whether they adjust the amount of towels to the amount of people in the room, but for just two people there were plenty.

I haven't had an authograph book since 1992 so I usualy don't pay much attention to them, I can't confirm about the room for photos, I can however confirm that last time I stayed in Santa Fe (2005) they had authograph books in the hotel store. They seem to be always in stock in there, so you should be fine on that account :)
I did, however, keep the hotel flyer (that you get when checking in) and it does have a phone number on there: 0033 (0) 1 60 45 78 00 and a fax: 0033 (1) 1 60 45 78 33
It might work to give them a ring and ask to be put through to the store to check it out :)

I don't know about the baby switch, as I don't have kids and thus never had to use it before.

You won't need to bring towels when staying at the Santa Fe - there will be plenty for your party, and if you need more, just ask at reception.

My DD (6) isn't remotely interested in POC (she reckons its way too dark for her) and she didn't really like Peter Pan either, for the same reason. My niece went on it last year (she was also 6) and although she is a bit of a thrillseeker, and loved all the other rides she went on, she didn't like POC, thought it was too dark.

The Santa Fe shop will have the most current autograph book, so if there is a 15th anniversary version, the Santa Fe shop will stock it.

I hope you know that all the DLRP brochures are available in english too and can be ordered on their site (they'll arrive in just a few days, may be too late now but you might just order them and see if they'll arrive, and if not, you can take the brochures on site anyway)!

Is Pirates Of The Carribean ride suitable for an almost 4 year old? It seems a bit 'dark', and ds is a bit of a wimp!
I guess it depends on the child. I think the darkest part of the ride is the pre show / queuing area already. If he's too frightened there already, you should maybe not go in (there's also a shortcut / escape door after half of the pre show area if you don't want to walk back the way).

The pre show is "pirates scenery, dungeons with either treasures or bones, kind of labyrinth through it all". As you can take your youngest on the arm it might be okay if a little bit of mystery and thrill does not scare too much.

Queueing up will allow you to have a look at whats gonna happen. CMs dressed as pirates will guide you to the boats sometimes a bit 'rude' (just like pirates do)...

The ride itself is IMO less frightening, as some action is going on, and you know that it is going to be a boat trip. 2 drops let you speed up a little bit and get a little bit wet, the rest is relatively harmless and (on some single spots) even cute, with that poor cat floating on the box in the water... meoooow...

Hmh, okay, dont want to get into too many details; I've seen 3-4yrs old going on the ride and even 6yo NOT going.. I'd say the preshow is a good "test" (as long as your youngest do want to go at all!)

Have lots of fun at Disney anyway!!
Oliver
