A Few Last-Minute Questions from a First-Timer

I'm hoping you knowledgable cruisers can help us settle some details so our first Disney cruise will go smoothly.

1- I want to record ds' reaction when he gets on board -- do they still announce names when you board or no? I'm thinking I could go ahead of dh and ds and be taping with the camcorder when they walk in. Does this sound do-able?

2- Is it possible to get a switch in dining rotation if necessary? Dh and I are celebrating our anniversary on the cruise and are hoping not to end up in Parrot Cay on that particular night.

3- On Castaway Cay, we're planning to rent bicycles in the morning. Is there anywhere to stow our swimsuits (like lockers) while we are on the bike ride?

4- Also, I know we need to pay cash for things on the island -- can the bike rentals be charged to our ship account? And do we need to reserve the bikes ahead of time like other excursions (I noticed them listed on our booking sheet) or can we just wander up when we're ready?

2>You can request a switch when you check in OR just get your Palo reservation for that night when you board!
3>No lockers on Castaway Cay
4>The only thing you need cash for on Castaway Cay is stamps at the post office - everything else will go on your KTTW card. Don't know about the bikes though . . .

As far as the bikes go I don't think you will have any problem just walking up and getting one when you're ready. They have different sizes, plenty to choose from. They rent them out by the hour ($6 I believe) and it's a great way to see the island. Hope you have a WONDERful time!

Looks like most of your questions have been answered but as to the walking on ahead - it is definitely doable. Just board a couple people in front or more, turn on the camera and shoot. You can then join them for the photo. Just tell the CM as you board what you're doing and she'll announce when DH & DS board. In fact on our last cruise I was so eager to get my CC massage ressie that I went on so far ahead I'm not even in the picture!

Dining room really doesn't matter for the celebration, although getting into one of the dressier ones is nice. We've actually celebrated on both previous cruises and ended up being in Parrot Cay. Our servers made it magical.
