So, just got back yesterday and thought I'd share our issues.

Our party was 3 adults and 1 child in Disney's eyes. However 1 of the adults is 11 and a tiny 11 year old at that.

Issue at Wolfgang Puck Express - I told the register person over and over she is an adult because he called her a child. He checked our card that had 3 A & 1 C on it, However since it was just her and I, I guess he figured she was the child and she got a childs meal served to her. So, if your Disney adult kid looks little they treat them as a child...ridiculous since we paid for adult credits. Also, you shouldn't have to all be together all the time to order to prove her brother was the chid- whatever!

Issue at France - My niece wanted the kids noodles instead of an adult choice and the waiter said fine but she can't get the adult dessert (fine whatever) however he didn't let her get a kid's appetizer. Um, okay if she can't get the adult dessert cause she is getting a kid's meal why can't she get the kid's appetizer since now she is a kid.

Other notes:

at Mexico (San Angel, the inside one) my niece wanted kids quesadillas, so the server just turned it into an adult meal.

At Liberty Tree Tavern she got a kids meal/appetizer but could still get an adult dessert.

why i stay far far away from the ddp. I love TIW. I am an AP and FL resident so the free dining isnt offered to me anyway and I like it like that

I'm a little confused about what happened at WPE. Did you tell the cashier that your DD was 11 and that you had another child under 10? Did your DD want to order an adult meal and was denied so she had to order off the children's menu? Did you ask to speak with a supervisor? Because if you are ordering for your 11 year old, they can't force you to get a children's meal if that's not what you want.

We had an issue with one of our meals in December 2011. We got the dining plan and both of our children are Disney Adults.

We were charged for 3 adults and one child at the end of our meal.

We caught it before the server ran it and we explained to him why he had to change it. He did change it and everything turned out fine but if we wouldn't have caught it, there may have been a mix up because we did not have child TS credits available.

So check your receipt to make sure they charge you correctly before they run your card.

Our children are also very small and do not look their age.

:goodvibes

At Wolfgang you order and they bring it to you, the receipt said pasta dish whatever and credits were taken off as 2, they aren't divided into child or adult. So, there was no way of knowing that she was being served the kid portion until we were served it. She already started eating and it was crowded so we just let it go. I think he saw her and thought I was trying to cheat the system by ordering an adult meal for a kid, yes I should have complained, but didn't feel like it. It was me and my niece (11), my sister and her son (9 the child) were elsewhere so we were not all together.

There won't be consistency, because the restaurants have different policies. The ones that are not operated by Disney (Chefs de France, San Angel, Wolfgang Puck) could very well have different policies from Disney-operated restaurants.

Any time you try to divert from the letter of the plan (ordering a child's meal for an adult for example) you may run into this.

This is making me a bit nervous. We leave in less than three weeks with an 11 year old Disney adult. I was planning on paying for a kinds meal oop at the couple of places he could not find something to eat on adult menu. Is this still ok?

Yes, you can pay for a kids' meal with cash/whatever if you want instead of using a credit, just tell the server.

Paying out of pocket is totally fine. People trying to use an adult DP credit for a kids meal is where the problem is. Some places allow it, and others do not.

Just pay OOP for a kids meal and don't use a credit for him and you will be fine. Just let the server know :thumbsup2

I hope we don't run into any problems - slightly different scenario as we've upgraded our DD's (7 & 8) to adults. I'm sure we'll get questioned at one of our 15 ADR's as to why we want adult meals not kids.....

Nah, you'll be okay. It will show on your KTTW card that you have 4 adults.

Like PP said, you won't have problems because your card will say 4A, but make sure you show them that ahead of time so there isn't issues.

Our problem was our card said 3A 1C - so when trying to order 2 Adult meals for me and my 11 year old niece at Wolfgang he assumed she was the Child because she is small.

I did notice at our sitdowns even though I told the check-in CM 3 A & 1 C, sometimes the person seating us would change it to 2 kids menus once they saw my niece. Which was fine because she could color on it, but then we said she is an adult and she ordered from that menus for the most part. Only France asked to see our card ahead of time and the Wolfgang Puck Express obviously at ordering time.

That's all well and good, but the OP wasn't diverting from the letter of the plan. She ordered an adult meal for a (Disney) adult child. For whatever reason, she was served & charged for a child's meal.
