A few hours at Epcot

I had the chance to spend about 3 hours at Epcot this afternoon. Here are a few observations.

Morocco
Now offers a Morroc-arita. Thus completing the Mexico/Morocco/Italy loop of scrumptious frozen beverages.

Mexico
It's been a while since I've been inside. Nothing has changed. No new product. No new offerings. Oh, some silly ride with Donald, but eh... was a bit disappointed. The margarita was good.

Spaceship Earth
I had the chance to ride the new Spaceship Earth.
1) The new logo looks suspeciously like the symbol used by the weathermen to designate a hurricane.

2) Dame Judy Dench does a great narration - a bit more conversational then the Jeremy Irons / Walter Cronkite lecture of past. Everything was "similar" but yet different. My computer screen crapped out at the end and had to reset, so the individualized end was absent. Without the computer, the end is one long descent back to Earth with nothing to see or hear.
All in all, I would say a great remodel.

Innoventions
Innoventions have new signs, but nothing new to do. When will Epcot gut this and put something interesting in its place?

United Kingdom
Pam Brody ROCKS!

It was as good 3 hours.

Thanks for letting me share.

ConcK?

Knox?

How did we miss this? :confused3

That will teach you to talk to a 6'7" Hockey fan and take his advice on cocktails! :rotfl2:

Don't you just love Pam?! She and I had a great discussion once upon a time about living on Bermuda. We'd both spent some time there and had a great old visit. She had a photo album and showed me some shots of her performing there.

I swear, the woman knows every song ever written.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the newly refurbished SE myself.

That ride with Donald reminds me of It's A Small World in the beginning... it's cute. But definitely one of those rides you go on when you're either waiting to be seated for dinner, waiting for a family member that's in the bathroom or just plain have nothing better to do (or of course for a relaxing ride with a child)

Glad you had a good time :goodvibes

I think it was more a matter of asking a straight man about cocktails...

And K&R, you guys missed the frozen drinks in France!!!

Ah yes.. the frozen Grand Marnier and the frozen Lemon-Lime-GreyGoose vodka combo..

As for how we missed Morocca-rita.. I'm not sure. But that's a point we will correct on the next trip thru!

LOL, this reminds me.....when we were waiting for our table in Kona, we had drinks at the bar ( don't know the name of it, on the 2nd flr at Poly).....my BIL asked me what I wanted and I said something sweet, fruity..........( I obviously don't drink much, but I was thinking nice tropical frozen drink)...........anyway, he brings me this mai tai that just about knocked me on my you know what, it was so strong!!! LOL. not sweet or frozen at all!

Ah, yes! the Tambu Lounge! One of my favorites. The mai tais are quite potent there, but the Pina Coladas are TO DIE FOR! So yummy! Especially since I usually have them add a shot of banana liquer to mine. :woohoo:

I know about France Grey Goose thing. I really don't like them all that much. It's more expensive and the glass is weird. It tastes okay, but there are better things around the world.

If Japan could think of a way to add alcohol to those ice cones (Kaki-Gori) they serve on the promenade, that will fill a hole between Morocco and Italy.

Maybe Germany could offer a Kraut-arita with mustard on the rim instead of salt.

Canada should offer the Margarit-eh. Maybe maple syrup flavored on the rocks.

Future World could use a full service bar. There used to be frozen drinks on the lower level of the Land, but not any more. What if Disney opened a lounge at Universe of Energy. We would order a Ellen's Lesbi-rita.

Disney's Polynesian Resort offers amazing drinks on the 2nd Floor lounge. Watch out for the Lapu-Lapu. I had one too many of those and, well, I don't really know what happened. It was expensive, whatever the experience was.

Wow, I sound like an alcoholic!

Time to go Riding the Rail!

Hey I want one of those! :rotfl2:

They still sell beer and wine in the land food court, but alas, no mixed drinks! Heck, add a few cordials to that cappuccino bar and I'd be a happy camper! Real Grand Marnier, cappucino, and a view of the foutain! :thumbsup2

Hey Randall......next time are you taking me around the world at EPCOT for a round of drinks? Ha!

I wonder if they have frozen Saki at the saki bar in Japan. I never thought to check there...

Well, you could get a sake at the sake bar and then pour it over some of the kaki gori ice. :teeth: That would essentially make a frozen sake, right?

Does anyone else remember the 'Scotch eggs' the used to serve at the pub at The Rose and Crown ?

They were like these sausage/deviled egg things. Incredibly tasty after a 'beverage' or two.

Introduced to us by an incredibly cute bartender named Scotty that worked there many moons ago.

Sadly, both he and the eggs are gone.

*sigh*
