I was booked at RPR, (for $309 a night!!!)) but just changed to HRH ($229 AP rate!!) and leaving it at that. Didn't want to spend more than $250 and so now spending $254 but that's including tax, so good to go.
Anything specific I should know about HRH?? I stayed at RPR in Dec and loved it, but know nothing about HRH. My dd, 17, is going to be so thrilled.

We are driving from Sanford Intl....can someone give me the best route between Sanford and HRH?? I will have GPS with me, but like to have a native's imput on top of that!!

Thanks for any suggestions!

can't help you with the drive but can tell you i have stayed at all three of the hotels.

over 23 stays at hrh and many at rph.

i love rph for the decor, service and layout of the hotel to the shops and resturants on site.
this is the place i book now for my stays.

you will enjoy hrh, especially the teen.

be sure to go to every floor and check out the displays. most rock items are near each elevator lobby.
take a camera.........

the Kitchen resturant on the 1st floor is great.
you can eat outside on the patio or inside

ice cream shop out near the lobby, close to the Kitchen.
save your coffee cup for a refill.

hrh rooms are larger than the ones at rph.
you have a short walk to the studios from hrh.

check out the guitar fountain at the main entrance.
plenty of benches to sit there and relax.

the rock shop is small but fine.
do check out the hrc and store in city walk.

the best nachos can be bought by pool service.
they are so good.

if you have any other questions, let me know and i'll try my best to help out.

The easiest way from Sanford International is I-4...it's also the most frustrating at times. A lot depends on when you arrive as to how long it will take you. But...I-4 is pretty much a straight shot to Universal.

You can also take the 417 South to the 408 West (these are toll roads) then to I-4. The traffic would be better if you're arriving mid-day but is really bad during rush hour.

Travel time is approximately the same w/o traffic of course.

Thanks for the insights guys.
Funny but someone else gave me almost the exact same thoughts on HRH!!! Seems there are some things that just need to be done.

I arrive mid-afternoon, on a Thursday, so will probably just take 4 down. Thanks!!

This is probably a stupid question, but how were you able to get the AP discount? (are you an AP holder? or just lucky?)

You get the AP discount by booking with an AP discount. You can do this by entering APH as the code on the reservations webside or by calling the reservations line and telling them you have or will be getting an AP.

I have an AP. I bought it basically for park entrance, but getting room discounts is nice. Got a good deal on a room in Dec as well...and split the cost with a friend, so it was even better.
