A few DDP questions

we just booked for next fall renting DVC points. I understand that we can add the DDP to our reservation. I hadn’t previously considered it but thought I’d at least give it a little thought.

We’ll be doing a split stay, four nights at AKV followed by four nights off site. There are seven in our group.

1. In order to get the DDP do we need to buy our park tickets through Disney? Since we’re not buying a package because we’re rentig DVC points, I think maybe we can buy tickets through Undercover Tourist or something like that?

2. Do we need to use our credits by the day we check out if AKV or can we finish using them during our remaining days at the parks?

I’m totally new to all this, so I appreciate any advice! Thanks!

I can't answer all your questions, but I know credits are good from check in until midnight on check out day.

Since you're renting DVC, you'll have to contact the owner, and they will purchase the DDP for you. You do NOT need tickets to do so.

If you do the DDP on the first part of split stay, you will have to use all of them by midnight of your check out day. They will NOT carry over to the second stay.

I added the DDP to a DVC reservation on rented points The DVC member had to be on the line to start a three way call, but then he just muted his line and I was able to deal with adding the plan and paying directly with Disney. I got my tickets through UT separately.

As others have said, credits will only be valid until midnight of your AKV check out day.
