Good Afternoon,
This is my first post on the disABILITIES board. I will be going to Disney in January , barring any complications.
I will be renting an off-site scooter and I am concerned that they state in their ad that they put your name/ hotel on the scooter for ID purposes. I am not sure if I am comfortable about this . Is there a way to "cover up" the name/hotel on the scooter? It states that the name is on the front and back of the rental scooter. Has anyone else been concerned with this or am I am just paranoid?
Also, I am not able to do stairs well or stand for a long duration of time due to balance/endurance complications from viral encephalitis. Is this cause to get a GAC for "just in case"? Otherwise, I will be able to get out of the scooter and walk to the boarding place if it is not for a long duration of time.
I would also like to know if I willl need training on the scooter where the company says they "just drop them at the hotel". I have never used one before.... OR ...will practicing in the hotel by myself be enough? Any first time users had difficulty maneuvering for the first time?
I have gotten wealth of information from this board. The messages have been extremely helpful. Thank you.
