1 - If you sign up for National's Emerald Club (through Turner Travel) do you have to use the same Credit Card that is used when signing up for the club, at the time of rental?

2 - Traveling with 6 people (5 adults, 1 child), will a Sport Utility Vechicle be enough room or should we get a minivan?
How are these particular cars at National?

3 - Is $274.22 a good price for a minivan? (7 days in May 2005 ; It is the same price for a Sport Utility Vechicle)

Thanks!

No. (Unless you are using a particular offer that is tied to the particular credit card. For example, Disney Visa has a discount offer, but you must use the DV cc to get it. Offer should list all the conditions).

A standard SUV would not be large enough, IMHO. IIRC, those only have seat belts for 5. Don't even consider it if the child will be using a car seat.

Go to National's website and click on reservations and then the field for type of vehicle. You'll see an example of the car class chosen as well as the text/graphics that specify number of people and luggage it holds. With 5 adults and 1 child, I'd go with a mini van( holds 7) or a full size SUV (those hold up to 8 passengers, I believe).

Unless you are picking up your vehicle over the Memorial Holiday weekend, I think you could do better - maybe as it gets closer to your dates, there will be lower rates. The best I have seen lately for minivans at National is $215/week including all taxes and fees. But that rate used a discount code and a coupon for $20 off. Try Dollar, too. Check out www.rentalcodes.com or www.mousesavers.com for discount codes available to the general public.

Best wishes -

You can change the credit card at any time by logging in to National's web site and editing your profile.
