Just a few quick questions...
My family and I are staying at BWV (renting points) in June, and I wanted to know...
Is there internet access in the villas? Is it free to point renters, or is there a fee?
Is there a fee to use the gym?
Pool hopping - I've seen some posts that refer to this. I know SAB is not an option, but are other pools? How does this work?

Thanks!

Since you are not the member, you are not entitled to member perks and discounts. These include pool hopping, free internet, various discounts. You are still entitled to WDW guest benefits such as free theme park parking, sending your packages to your resort.

So for the pool, you'll need to be happy with Luna Park themed pool, the leisure pool at the villas and the leisure pool by the BWInn.

Internet access is wired high speed internet (the cable for the computer is in your closet) and costs $9.95 for 24 hours.

There is wired (ethernet cord) internet access in the rooms. There is a daily charge (used to be $9.95, don't know if still the same). Free internet access is available to members only, not renters. That is true of all DVC perks. Thus, you cannot pool hop for same reason. The gym has a fee (don't know what it is).

I have been told by DVC Management that wired internet access is free for anyone staying on points at a DVC Resort.

As far as other perks, if your room key says "DVC Member" on it, you will get the other perks that don't require a blue membership card.

It may not what some members like to hear, but that is the way it is.

The Key To The World card is "the key!"

Thanks for all of the answers. Hopefully the "key is the key" but I'm just happy to be going, if the other posters are correct.

When we pool hopped to the Poly we were asked to show our blue DVC member card. We've been asked to show the blue card about 40% of the time for perks and discounts.

Personally, I find pool hopping to be sort of a pain in the back end - its a bigger pain in the back end to pack up, go, get carded, and have to leave.

We stayed at BWV in August and you need your DVC membership card to get free Internet access. You have to enter your membership ID on the 1st screen or else you have to agree to have the $9.95 (for 24 hours) charge to your room. If you login again after 24 hours, you need to enter the membership information again or accept the room charge.

I was at BWV 2 weeks ago and did not have to enter my membership # and was not charged. Didn't have to enter it at AKV in June either.
