Didn't wait on one standby line the whole trip. Thanks WDW for screwing up our room and giving us a crazy ton of extra anytime FP+! I hope they screw it up again next trip!

Just curious - what did they do to mess up your room and what did you have to do to get them to make up for it?

Seriously...it wasn't even a big deal. We had to sit around for a couple of hours and wait at CSR. They went above and beyond compensating for a minor annoyance. Only problem is I'll be spoiled for ever waiting on a line again at WDW.

The second question I'm not sure about. My wife dealt with the staff. Not sure if they offered up the fast passes just like that or if she had to lay on the coal. She made it seem like the former.

We got a lot of extra fast passes this trip, too.

- POTC broke down while we were on it and we were all handed limited fast passes as we walked off.
- Waited a while for a bus and were given a fast pass for any ride, good for the whole month.
- Waited a little while to report that DD lost her lightsaber on POTC and was given FP good on any ride.
- Had FP for Splash in ME, though had no intention of going on it due to the weather, then it broke down and they automatically gave us another FP good for the mountain.

9 per day. An extra six for MK the first evening on top of that. Plus all our pre scheduled ones. The only limit on the FP they gave us was I think that it couldn't be during a time slot you had booked already or it would bump that ride.

I'm not sure if it's standard procedure - and I don't know if they would have given her a new one just because I asked them to. The CM happen to notice how upset dd was .... I think it was just pixie dust and not what they typically do.

Did you check at Guest Relations? My son left his sunglasses, phone and room key on EE and we recovered all of them at Guest Relations later that day on the way out. Most people are kind and probably turned it in to a CM.

They gave you NINE Fast Passes per day?
So, six of them were "any time" fast passes? Or did you still have to schedule them and have an availability?

I like how they can now use Fast Passes as "compensation" for issues .. but wow .. 9 per day? I'd be happy with 1 or 2 .. but 6 more????? That's like VIP status!
They can afford to give them out like candy like that?

I was wondering how you went on the Tomorrowland Speedway 6 times .. even at low capacity the wait time for that ride is pretty long! (I went during a morning EMH and still had to wait 15-20 minutes to get on) ..

I've enjoyed it when I've gotten a "any time" Fast Pass due to a ride closure. The flexibility is pretty awesome even though you couldn't go on the one ride you had scheduled. (I got one because SDMT was rained out .. I then had the flexibility to walk on SDMT ANY time (or several other rides) I wanted the rest of the day .. that was preferable over a specific hour window)

I hope that some day they will give special fast passes to resort guests .. a fourth "any time" fast passes as an on-site perk.
It is obviously possible within the technical means of the system based on these "compensatory" fast passes. I feel that perk would be much more desirable than EMH.

As far as affording to give them out, what do they care, it just bumps people the in the standby line back further. Doesn't cost them anything.

FYI, I had problems with my room as well (it was a couple hours late and my kids had to nap in the lobby of the Poly). Try as I might (w/o specifically pushing for FP's) I didn't get any FP. They did give us $250 credit though...So if you're thinking this might be a way to get them I don't think it happens for everyone. We also had issues with Splash Mntn and the only thing they would give us was an anytime but for Splash only. It was in July, so it might be because of how many people were there.

We had major issues last time. They did nothing while we were there. I wrote a letter afterwards, and they made an attempt to try to address the concerns. But the point is they are all over the place: Their quality is unpredictable. Their responsiveness is also unpredictable. Still, I love WDW so we go back.
