A Dream of a Dream

Sorry I did get a response about the tour of Atlantis but I was away at the cottage for the long weekend. Anyway was the tour worth the cost yes for me because I wanted to see Atlantis and at the time I went on the tour I think the coast may have been cheaper then it is now. It includes a bus ride that goes back and forth to the shopping area by the resort and the port. You could leave at anytime you wanted. Also I think they said that we could use the beach but not the pools, keep in mind this was in 2006 so things may have changed.

Wow. What views from your hotel....thanks for sharing pix from somewhere I've never been, but want to visit.

Okay, thank for the info. I'll have to look into that a bit more.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures. You know I love sharing them ;)

I could get very used to working out with a view like that. :thumbsup2

That night we decided to have some fun on Clifton Hill which is basically the main drag with all the tourist trap type attractions.

IMG_8577.jpg

First we decided to play a game of Galaxy Golf! I LOVE mini-golf. I'm not any good but for some reason I just love to play.

IMG_8581.jpg

We were so pathetic that we had to stop playing halfway through to let two little girls play through as we were holding them up.

We had bought a "fun card" that would get us into 6 attractions. It had three of the attractions we were definitely going to and paying for them individually would have cost the same as the card so naturally we went with the card.

Mini-golf down we went across the street to Ripley's Believe It or Not!

IMG_8593.jpg

This place was a lot of fun!

There was this zany hallway you have to go through to exit. It is impossible to walk straight in it! It is black with coloured lights swirling around you. It was so much fun going through the hallway that we walked through 3 times!

Next it was the SkyWheel which is like the London Eye but smaller.

IMG_8630.jpg

IMG_8633.jpg

Well we were all a bit nervous and when we started to move we all freaked a bit.

IMG_8637.jpg

IMG_8640.jpg

It was fine after a few minutes and we realized that we would not plummet to our deaths. We had a great view of the falls all lit up but I couldn't get any good pictures because of the movement.

They let us go around 5 times. We were REALLY ready to get off.

IMG_8658.jpg

Next up we went to an arcade type area where we used our fun card for this ride.

IMG_8660.jpg

It is the same type of thing as Buzz Lightyear. You ride around and shoot at targets with your laser gun. Of course it was not as elaborate as Buzz but it was fun for what it was.

We decided it was time for dinner at that point. We didn't want to spend a lot of money so we just stopped at the Wendy's.

We then caught a really lame Clown ride but no big deal as it was included in our pass so we hadn't put out any extra money for it.

We were really wiped by then so we made our way down to the falls to get a few pictures and then off to bed for the night. We still one more attraction on our pass so we decided to save it for the next night.

Oooh, I really wanted to go on the SkyWheel! How long did it take for one rotation? I plan on getting the funcard next time I'm down there too.

I love Ripley's. I always go, even though they don't change it up a bit. I have a cousin that loves these records. I buy him the new edition of the book every year for his birthday.

The ghost blasters ride wasn't too scary right? I'm very iffy about haunted house type things.....Which is why it's strange how much I love the Haunted Mansion...but how can anyone not love those happy haunts?

No, it wasn't scary at all. It is only worth going if you have admission on your fun card, I wouldn't pay to do it.

those wax figures look really good very lifelike. was that robot thing in the mini golf or was that something else.

You 3 had some GREAT fun that evening!! So many super silly pictures!

Yep, that was at the mini-golf.

We did have a lot of fun. At the start of the night they were reluctant to do the goofy touristy stuff but after they saw how fun the mini-golf was they changed their minds. ;)

A couple weeks ago my dad told me about a black bear that was spotted in his neighbourhood and today he sent me a video of it that a neighbour posted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_YWWPrrHaU

A bit scary! This is the second bear in less than a year (that he knows of) that has been in the neighbourhood. I think I will be looking very carefully before I exit his house when we go to visit in a couple weeks!

At this time, in one year exactly, Mom and I will be making our way to the port to board the Dream! :woohoo::banana::cheer2:

It is hard to believe that on this day last year we were on Castaway Cay. :cloud9:

So time for more trip plans!

I'm not sure if we are going to fly or drive down. I am tempted to drive simply so that I am not hindered in my souvenir shopping by airline/luggage restrictions.

Either way I am thinking that we will arrive in Orlando a day or two before the cruise and stay at Disney. We won't go into the parks though, just hang out at the hotels and shop around Downtown Disney. Maybe have dinner at the Poly and watch Wishes from the beach.

We would then drive to the port the day of the cruise.

So what fun suggestions do you have for doing Disney outside of the parks?

Just like you said, DTD, resort hopping (lots of that), maybe a movie on the beach at the Beach Club or the Campfire at the Fort.

There's a TON to do outside the parks!

Loved the Niagara Falls update !!! The Falls Light up is inspiring !!!!
I just read on The Focker Thread that V took Leo to Fort Wilderness where they have Archery and Horses !!Don't know if either interests you , but was the first I heard of them!!

That sounds fun, I'll have to research how much those activities cost.

I woke up very early again, this time I was out and about for the sunrise.

It was so early that there were not even any joggers out.

The only person I saw while I was out there was a very old man. He was all by himself and he was emptying ashes into the falls. It was very sad and I felt intrusive having obviously witnessing a very private moment. I thought it was sad though that he was there all alone.

I knew the girls wouldn't be up yet so I walked up Clifton Hill to the Tim Horton's to grab a very yummy and nutritious breakfast consisting of a cinnamon roll and chocolate milk.

I was really looking forward to the day's activities. We were going to be doing all the falls attractions: Maid of the Mist, Journey Behind the Falls, Niagara's Fury, and White Water Walk.
