A Dream of a Dream

I was reading about the virtual porthole the other day. What a great idea to make it a little less claustrophobic feeling!

I think it is a great idea and very fun! I did get the giggles though when I thought about the characters popping up. There you are getting dressed in your room and you look over and there's Mickey peeping in through the porthole!

I've got a few more. Wanna see?

Now that I'm all tuckered out...

Lessa! :goodvibes Will your room have two twin beds?? Looks much roomier than the one you had this last time.

:rotfl:

Nope, it is a Queen bed, word is that the beds on the new ship will not separate into two beds like on the Magic and Wonder. That will probably only get confirmed or denied closer to sail date. The couch will turn into a bed though as on the other ships.

This room is actually smaller than the one we had this past May, just a different layout so the bed is up against the back wall.

Here is what the oceanview and verandah rooms will look like. They are bigger than the inside cabin and have a different layout.

What I like about the new oceanview cabins is that the porthole has a nice window seat that you can sit in, the older ships don't have that.

Those rooms look beautiful. I love that they have small porthole that plays video in realtime.

This one's my fave!

I think the virtual porthole may be one of the best ideas the cruise industry ever came up with! It actually make the inside staterooms desirable. I hope the prices don't up too much because of that.

I really want to go on a Disney Cruise. When I went on my Royal Caribbean cruise, the room was TINY. And so was the tiny little shower. There was very little room to move and the vanity area was very small. If I can pay the same price for a room on the Magic or Wonder, then I'll take it!

I think once the Fantasy is released and DCL has four ships out the prices may become a little bit more reasonable. More supply=less demand=lower prices, well hopefully!

I love the look of the new rooms!

I really don't mind the inside staterooms at all!:thumbsup2

Good to know! I was a bit hesitant to book the inside room but I have read favourable reviews of them and knowing that you like it is another plus. :thumbsup2 It is a CAT 11 Guarantee so who knows, maybe we will get upgraded. ;)

I've only ever been in an inside and I don't mind it at all. I spent very little time in my room, so if I could get the same cruise experience as everyone else and pay much less, then woohoo!

I really hope so! *fingers crossed*

can you choose your stateroom. I know when I booked online. I was able to get a good room.....

:thumbsup2 For the short cruises like this one I think spending the money on a verandah is a bit of a waste. It is really nice to have one though when on a longer cruise. You are right though, if the difference between going and not going is staying in an inside room then it is definitely worth it. They are so much cheaper!

Nope, we were able to choose our room if we booked a higher category but the Inside Rooms were only Guaranteed Status so we won't find out our room until close to the sail date. I'm not concerned about it though, I'm sure wherever we end up will be fine. I have read that a lot of the people in the guarantee rooms end up getting upgraded so that DCL can then open up those cheaper rooms closer to sail date to try and get as many people onboard as possible. That probably won't happen on our cruise with the ship being so new and thus very popular but you never know. ;)

Absolutely! Staying in an inside stateroom is the only way I'll ever be able to go on a cruise.

Hey Jordy, does the June Peepfest still include the DCL? I'm starting to consider it.

If not, I'm already looking into making it for the Feb Peepfest.

Morning Lessa !!! If I can ever afford a cruise those inside rooms do look awesome !!!! Hoping you get an upgrade!!

I've heard of them upgrading too...soo......

I'm keeping my fingers crossed although it would be sad to miss out on the Virtual Porthole.

No! You have to come to June Peepfest, that is when all the cool kids are going to be there. ;)

The cruise sounds great - the room looks brilliant. :)

I am really liking the look of the new rooms. I can't wait to see all the pictures I am sure the Dis will be flooded with come January when the Dream sets sail for its first cruise.

Thanks Rosie, here's hoping!
