A "Dream" Come True (With Pic Goodness)

BTW, the pools are well guarded. 3 lifeguards were always watching. The pools were also freshwater, so my DD didn't complain about burning eyes. It's these little, BIG things that Disney does that makes the cruise so much more enjoyable. Also no signing out towels, you just grab one when you need it and return it to the used bins when you're done. The bartenders do walk around the pool deck which makes it easy to order a drink without walking around on a wet floor and possibly injuring yourself. Disney isn't the only line that does it, but I'm glad they do.

So after spending the afternoon on the pool deck, we returned to our room when it was time to shower and get ready for dinner.

Tonight was the Enchanted Garden.

Since it was the last night, I treated myself to a coke and a chocolate cocktail for dinner...it was okay, I don't recall the name of it.

I ordered the lobster ravioli (it was okay) along with the Salmon Avocado tartar tower (which was Delicious! probably the best appetizer of the cruise.) For the entree I got the scallops with pearl pasta, it was very good. Dessert was the trio...it was okay. DD had her usual plus a Mickey bar for dessert.

After dinner, we saw the show Believe. I thought it good, but we both liked the Golden Mickey's more. We then did another tour of the ship before heading back to our cabin to pack and put our luggage outside the door and get mentally prepared to leave.

After packing, went to the lobby and saw the "See you real soon" goodbye from the cast..... BUT we did have ONE more breakfast at the Enchanted Garden...only thing was we had to be at 0630! Grrrrrrr.

So on the last morning DD had cereal and yogurt while I ordered a simple breakfast of bacon and eggs.

I want to mention we got AMAZING FE gifts, truly. I just want to give special mention to this one as I REALLY enjoyed drinking this after the cruise- from a cabin mate from Canada. Maple tea biscuits with maple tea! WOW, delicious..what a great way to extend the cruise experience a week after. Of course I also enjoyed the wine onboard and the myriad of gifts that MY DD just LOVED.

In closing, we had a great time, as I said in the OP, a great bonding time with my DD. It was a great trial cruise and after this cruise, we can venture on longer ones as I know we will not only have a great time, but lasting memories to cherish for a lifetime. I hope you enjoyed my first shot at a trip report and doing this trip report was actually a great reminder for us as well. Cheers!

Wonderful report!! Really enjoyed reading it. Seems you had a relaxed time. Thanks for taking the time to share!

Loved your report, thanks for sharing! Some seriously great moments!

BTW, need to make a correction, the appetizer on the last day is tuna/avocado...not salmon. But like I said, BEST appetizer of the cruise!

Thank you for a great report, I am considering a trip with my daughter, who will be 6 over spring break next year while my dh and ds are in Germany on a high school trip. Your review was exactly what I was looking for and well done, thank you so much!

Just wanted to tell you I enjoyed your TR! We were on the Dream his past September and absolutely loved it! Your pics helped me re-live our cruise!

Your daughter is adorable, it looks like she had a fantastic time!

Wow you really hit the jackpot on the oversized veranda! I wanted an aft cabin, we were aft but on the starboard side.

:daisy:

Thanks everyone, I just reread this thread as I am thinking about booking another December Dream trip....not sure if I should wait to see if GT rates pop up of if I should book this month....

I loved reading your trip report! Thanks for sharing! Your balcony looked amazing! When we booked our Dream cruise for April 2016, I had initially booked a room in the 10th floor. I changed it based on reviews and recommendations on these boards that the noise is terrible. I changed to the 9th floor and hope I don't regret it!!

Thanks!:cutie: Didn't hear any noise of the moving deck chairs that I heard about....only thing is if you're on the aft side of the ship, you will feel some noise/vibrations from the thrusters during docking...but it's not that bad. I am trying to book this same cabin for Christmas cruise this year, but I don't see any 5E rooms available.

I loved your trip report! Thank you. I'm getting excited about mine coming up in Feb.

Thanks a lot for sharing your report. The photos are wonderful! Your DD is so adorable and I got a good laugh out of the Bahamian visitors. I have little doubt that our own DCL photos will continue to bring back beautiful memories when the kids are grown up - yours will for sure! Where else can you capture your DD outshining Ariel in a matching dress :).
