A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

After lunch we went back to the room. I took some room pics and then we started to unpack.

We got all unpacked and rested and watched TV a bit and then decided we'd head out to Epcot. We weren't planning to head out until closer to our ADR time, but we were all excited and ready to go. Even if it was the hottest part of the day!! So we headed out to the bus stop and were to Epcot in no time.

We took a look at the wait time board and Soarin and TT were both over an hour. And there were no fastpasses left for Soarin. Great. My kids don't want for anything over 20 minutes! So we went to TT and did the single rider line. DS9 would never do this before, but he ended up being fine and we were glad we did it because unfortunately this would be our only TT ride the whole trip. But more on that later....

Up next was Mexico! Epcot was not empty by any means that day and we hoped that wasn't a sign of things to come for the entire vacation, especially after all that we had heard about how slow the end of August was supposed to be.

But The Gran Fiesta Tour had no wait of course! Does is ever?

Time was flying and it was nearly our ADR time already for Via Napoli. So we went straight there next.

CBR is such a pretty resort! And it seems like yall lucked out and got an awesome location in Jamaica

I can't wait to hear how yall liked Via Napoli. We ate there on our trip this past June and it was my FAVORITE!

Ok Shelly..we are in a bit of a pickle....we are due for our 45 day mark next week and so far-no room discount and we are not eligible for the FD...which isn't really a better deal for us out of the two. SO!!! We are not gonna do the Contemporary Theme Park view and pay rack rate---we are considering cheaper options for rooms in case no codeor pin becomes available. All that to say, I am looking at doing adjoining rooms at the Caribbean-your job:convince me
It would be a teeny weeny bit more than doing a Gardenwing room at the Cont, but if they are sold out I need options. Family suites are always an option, but I don't know if dh is gonna go for it- we are considering a split stay and end over at the Cont in the tower...but I gotta make some decisions over the weekend...hate that I am in a last minute crunch like this, but if you take out the deluxe rooms, there are not many options for a family of 5 without doing 2 rooms....I also wanted your opinion on what buildings/rooms we should request. Also,,what should we totally AVOID!? Thanks...we are about to become desperate!!! LOL!! I even started to consider this resort because you and Kim love it so much!

Epcot was busy that night! Thankfully, we only went for dinner at Teppan Edo and Illuminations. We did ride Spaceship Earth and Mission Space with little wait, I considered those bonuses. We didn't have any problem finding a spot for Illuminations about 20 minutes before show time though. Via Napoli is on our maybe list for next time so I can't wait to hear about it!

Glad the weekend is coming up and hopeing you find some time to do the Via Napoli review but if it is a busy weekend with the boys sports and all no biggy.

I hate that Epcot was so dang busy for you guys that day. I hate when you go into Epcot and see pockets of people everywhere. Not cool. I really was hoping that you could just walk right onto Soarin that afternoon.

The room pics of CBR-- it looks so bright and fun! I didn't see much luggage- you must have been hiding it all very well.

shelly...we did change our ressies today...we are moving to the Poly and got FD!!! Thought you would like to hear that! We only did Garden view...I think that's the cat I had last time, but we did the Tokelau building...anyone got suggestions before I call with room requests next week?

DH is doing very well. But he went for his follow up visit with the surgeon yesterday and he wants him to be off work for another 4 weeks. He is so bored!!

Yep, that was about the only bad thing about that day -- that we didn't get to ride Soarin. But, as you know we got on it later in the week!

I would probably request Tokelau, Tahiti, or Samoa next time since we probably won't do CL there again.

Okay, I know many of you have been waiting for this one. Sorry if it disappoints!


We got to Via Napoli just in time for our ADR. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated.

It was hot and the kids were already saying they didn't feel like eating. We had lunch kind of late and our dinner was kind of early (only ADR I could get), so I wasn't exactly starved either. I knew from the way DS9 was acting that he wasn't going to eat a thing. So I knew from the start that this wasn't going to be the best experience. I usually don't make an ADR for arrival night and I guess I should have stuck to that! Our server was nice, but kind of hard to understand and very slow.

Since the kids weren't hungry I just ordered one kids pizza meal for them to share. DH ordered the “Candele - candle stick pasta, sausage ragu, polpettine, mozzarella, ricotta” and I ordered “ Margherita individual pizza - tomato, mozzarella, basil”. None of us were blown away with our meals.

Everything was just very plain and average. When we were done it was time for dessert, which we had kind of forgotten about. Last year we went without the DDP and we loved the freedom!! We are not ones to eat dessert right after dinner, we prefer to wait until later. But – we were forced so this is what we chose!

DH got “Tiramisu - Mascarpone cream, espresso coffee, lady fingers, and chocolate” and I got the “Zeppole di Ricotta - Ricotta cheese fritters, served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Both were very good! The kids got a sundae.

When it came time to pay the bill it took forever. Our waiter didn't seem to know exactly what he was doing and had to get help from someone else. Overall we were not impressed with the service or the food, other than the desserts.

Eh, I don't like disappointing meals. What a bummer Shelly! You caerfully plan these meals for months and when they don't go as planned, it sort of stinks.

Well I knew you didn't like VN too much. But daaaaaaaaaaaang- that monstrous THING on your DH's plate made me giggle!!!!!!!! What the heck was that? It looked like a mess!

Your pizza looked good. Sorry it was disappointing.

And oh my word-- Tirimisu is my favorite dessert ever! That looked so yummy!

I guess you won't be going back there. That's so sad- we had such high hopes.
Maybe you should have stuck with the belly dancer supper. It might have gotten a better review from you guys.
