A disturbing new trend

well, I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but are you all constantly getting pestered by people asking to be your boy / girlfriend? I mean, I take a newly aquainted friend to my room and BAM! it happens: "Do U need a girl friend?", or I can just be sitting somewhere, and I get "O you are cute, be my boyfriend?" this really bothers me as the people asking these questions are probably like 10...

I haven't been asked yet (should I take that as an insult? ) but I did 'overhear' two players the other night in the Discovery Island room:

Male - "Well I hadn't seen you on here for a while so I got a new girl friend,"

Female - "I couldn't log in. Aren't you my boyfriend any more?"

Male - "No i have a new girlfriend"

Female - "I'm going to go away and cry" (or words to that effect)

Female player then vanished It is worrying I have to say, who knows how seriously these 'kids' are taking such things?

I hope Disney keep an eye on it... after all, that is why they have the restricted opening times and dictionary etc.

I have had many many friends requests posted to me from people (I assume kids) whom I have just stood next to in a room or whatever even before we have said two words to each other!

I believe this is getting out of hand. I was just surfing around the different rooms yesterday and I found some very disturbing things like:

A room to marry your VMK characters The a family service room where you can adopt kids once your married. I seen girls wearing the babydoll type shirts saying they were prego with little peeps?? I guess Divorce court is next.

I'm always hounded by boys asking me to be their girl I'm old enough to be their mothers. I wish parents would watch and see what's going on.

I haven't been asked.. guess I'm not cute enough! LOL Or maybe they can sense my age! heehee! But I have noticed how many enter a room and ask if anyone is looking for a boy/girlfriend. Annoying! And we all thought we were lame! Saw that "Adopt a Kid" room today... very scarey. I'm sure the moderators will be all over that one real soon. One can only hope.

I've also had someone ask is they could buy me a drink!
I haven't seen the adopt a kid room yet, but it sounds pretty scary.

I don't know if it's a "new" trend, because very early on, Bezoar's signature ended with "Sorry, not interested in VMK girl friend." I've since taken it out, I suppose because there are plenty of eligible non-green guys around.

You could just put in your signature "Not interested" or "Taken" or something to decrease the requests. I know multiple people who have contacted the developers.

Still, the developers know their target audience is frequently in the tweens, and what are tweens interested in? Just look at the top 10 rooms during the day, and it becomes pretty obvious.

Oh well. It's disturbing, but...

Never been asked to be anyones girlfriend within VMK. I think my member name WDWTigger72 gives away my age, although not sure what I would do with 8 to 14 year old, afterall I am no michael jackson I thought VMK would be a great environment for meeting people who enjoy Disney as much as I do. Then I saw how young some people were and thought I was the only 30+ person until finding this forum/site. Personally, I have never thought of VMK as some online dating forum there are other web sites for that. There are not too many Disney fans within my region so I thought this would be a great outlet, and if I meet some great people with similar interests that would be great.

when I first signed on, I was praying to dear lord that it wouldn't be like Habbo. What goes on at habbo is totlaly wrong. There are a bunch of freeks on there and the grapics arn't pritty. Everyone looks like fridge boxes its sick. And everyone in like, the UK habbo gets everything that rocks. We get junk. Anyway, I noticed that Falling Furni was brought over and all heck broke loose. The just need to add "Hooters Family Restaraunt" Robotic Dances, Crapy Graphics, no word list, and some beds and its Habbo!

This girl said she'll be my gf and shes will give me 2 chairs, I really need chairs so a said yes. A few days later she said" heres a teleporter so you can connect with my room! So I took it. Like the day after that happened she asked it back, since im a nice person(not anymore because I aways get fooled!) she took it and said again, can you just buy 1 teleporter so You can connect to my friends room ill give it to her, I said o..kay..(i didn't know how tele's work ,then she ran off ditching me with my teleporter.

My DDs are really enjoying this game, but I am not happy with this whole boyfriend/girlfriend and make out talk either.

I don't play the game, so I am wondering from you guys, how bad is it?

My DDs say they can't make the characters 'do' anything. I hope that is true. They also say there are many words that can't be typed in. I am hoping that since this is a beta site, maybe there will be a way to stop some of this stuff.
