Well, it's official, we won't make it to DL.

The site launched yesterday (http://www.philosophy.com), and there are still some outstanding issues that need to be taken care of. Our 'downtime' will be this week after we get those hashed out. Next week starts phase 2, so I have to be here.

We're so bummed we won't get to see you all. But, we'll see you next NYE!!!

yes I know you gotta ask...but I gotta say nope. we're going on the repo in May '08 and that is ALL the time that I can get the kids from school and us from work.

having said that, ya never know when we'll come up with that trip to NYC and if we do we "expect" you to come and join us for some party time there.

I showed Brittany and she said that was her favorite Lucy episode!

We were out early this am, on the road by 4, checked in by 430. Philly asks passengers to be two hours early for your flight.

Hubby brought dd and me to the airport and was gruuumpy! He made me swear never to book a flight out this early in the morning, ever.

I type this as the sun rises over the city, we have another hour before we fly our first leg.

We are taking southwest from Philly to Chicago at 630, landing at 745. Our next leg takes us from Chicago to san Jose at 940 landing around noon their time.

Our plan is to be picked up by my friend Nan, stop somewhere for lunch, get her kids from school, have a bbq at her house for dinner, go see pirates at 8 and then nans husband takes Britt and me to our hotel in san Francisco where we will spend our first night.

Its a long first day but I think we'll manage. I fully intend to sleep on the Chicago to san Jose leg. I even brought my Mickey fleece blanket with me to guarantee a comfortable nap.

I am posting now live on my blackberry, please forgive me any typos cause this thing tends to have a mind of its own at times.

We're off to join the girls in SF shortly, the Giants game starts at 7:15pm, the kids are napping right now...up way to late last night. (okay, I'm abad mom we just had to see it on opening night)

We are at the airport watching the sun rise as I type this

Hubby was fine last night after he got back with ds. This morning was another story

He was gruuumpy! Made me swear never to book this early a flight, ever.

Security was a breeze, I got the routine down pat, no metal on, no liquids, shoes off, ID out.

We were here two hours early and now get to sit for an hour and a half. We have first boarding and land in chi town at 745. Our connection leaves at 945 so we have another wait before we get onto the real flying.

I'm sitting here wondering how the airlines get around tornado alley. The Midwest has a row of storms that I'd personally like to avoid.

Hugs to everybody, ill be lurking til we board at 630.

We made it to Chicago, we have another hour before our next take off. We had breakfast here. Britt got fruit and a Danish, I had sausage egg and cheese on a bagel.

Britt had the window seat on both legs of the trip.

I already told her I get window on the way home

We've been hanging out in san Jose with my friend Nan and family. Had lunch out, she even pulled out their 55 porche convertible for the ride.

We picked up her kids from school, I surprised them by being there. Then we hit the grocery store for our bbq tonigt.

Nan just printed our movie tix for tonight and Paul, her hubby, just started the grill.

So I'm off again.

Great movie!!!

I have a piece of advice for all who haven't seen it tho, stay til the credits are done, there is more to the story!!!

Nan wanted to wait and Britt and me had to go potty, by the time we came back to them we caught the real end of the movie

We went to san fran airport after the movie to pick up rose and stef, got to the hotel around 1230 and were all asleep by 130.

Rose got a phone call at 630! So I got 5 hours sleep after being up for 24

Rose and me got up and had our continental breakfast, stef was ready when we got back but we are still waiting for Britt. She's in the shower now.

We tour san fran today. Its hazy foggy and chilly today, supposed to only be about 60.

The theater we went to had a pirate cast do a show for us and the people I went with got dressed up!

Lotsa pictures already, I will share when I get home.

We just got back from the ballgame, got to see Mr bonds. It was cold!!! We dressed properly and took blankets, we lasted thru 6 innings.

I hope you all realize mt live trip report seems to be happening here on your thread. I spend what time I have posting here and on my cruise thread that mt tr has been neglected.

I gotta pack tonight and we go to alcatraz early so I will probably check in after that.

We go to san Jose later in the day for the night and are going to see pirates with rose, stef and my friend Nan's family tomorrow night.

One more day and we finally go to disneyland!

We have escaped from alcatraz!

The ferry took is over at 9 this morning, I told rose 830 so we wouldn't be late. Have I ever told you guys how perpetually late rose tends to be? She is.

She is so predictably late that if I want her to be on time. Simply tell her an earlier time

It was totally grey, rediculously cold and a bit wet on the top deck so we sat inside on the way over. Rose has no fear of talking to strangers, today she met a lovely young girl from Denmark. I did not get her name but I do know she is here for her college graduation with her family and headed to Nebraska and then back home to Denmark.

Rose and I have met many interesting people, usually in line for a ride and sometimes even on one.

Anyway.

We love history and alcatraz is totally worth the trip! I have tons of pictures to share when we get home.

San Francisco is beautiful, even on foggy days as we have had since we arrived. We are going to see the golden gate when rose gets back with our rental car. We are staying quite close to it but haven't seen it cause the fog has been so bad.

We had to come back to the hotel to check out by noon so we were off the island by 11. It was plenty of time to take the tour. The park service offers audio tours for 5 dollars or you can choose to read the signs all over for free. We do free.

I've been looking for a tote bag since we started this journey, carrying my purse and camera is a nuisance. I found a beautiful one with a full black and white photograph of the prison on the side and bought that in the gift shop before we left.

We have since checked out of the hotel and I am sitting in the lobby as I write this, the girls are finishing up their souvenir shopping and rose is stuck in traffic on a shuttle on her way back to the airport where she rented the car.

I am babysitting the luggage.

We could have the hotel hold it for us but I am more comfortable and perfectly happy watching it myself.

This is the longest I have sat still in three days!

Rose called to warn me that she will be a long time, the traffic is barely moving and she says it goes on for as far as she can see.

I will sit here as long as it takes and catch up on some of my favorite trip report writers, so no worries here.

I feel like lauralee tonight. I am wondering why I do this, why I go on vaca with other people.

I love the traveling rose and I do together but always find myself wanting to never do this again!

For the most part, we enjoy each others company... But sometimes... I wanna strangle them.

By all means people, tell me if I am wrong here.

We got into an argument on the way to the baseball game yesterday cause rose left the metro map at the hotel and I was supposed to get everyone to the ballfield by memory. We wound up walking.

She wanted to drive to haight ashbury but refused to ask directions, then insisted on reading the map while she drove without her glasses, and got mad cause she got lost.

On the way back from the alcatraz tour she walked so fast she left us all behind and walked by herself. She then told is she did that to get in some exercise.

Come on!

We just walked all of san Francisco up and down hills over the coarse of two days and she needed exercise?

Wth!

Even her daughter got mad at her for that one.

We all went to the movie tonight and I had to listen to her daughter tell me how stupid it was.

Oh yeah, stef also told me on the way to the ballgame how bad my favorite hockey team sucked. A little respect would be nice.

Tomorrow we are driving the coast to disneyland. Stef is already complaining that is wanting to drive the pch is stupid.

What they say and sometimes what they do really tend to rub me the wrong way. Am I wrong for being upset, tell me honestly people, I could really use some advice.

We are still in san Jose. We went to a brewery around the corner for dinner. The pale ale was tasty, the food was so so. We then headed over to the cinema for round two of pirates. Rose and stef were interested to see it but don't get the story. They keep asking what calypso has to do with the story.

Rose is out shopping, our luggage doesn't fit in the rental car so she is out looking for a rooftop luggage carrier. I gotta head upstairs and get the girls outta bed so we can make our way to Anaheim.

I'm finally going to disneyland!

First, hi lauralee!!!

Second, non sequitor basically means the order of things might seem a bit off.

Third, my dh tells me its me that needs to relax when I get upset at people, esp at my mom and rose.

We are about 100 miles from la. The pacific coast highway is gorgeous and looong and winding. We are back on the interstate and making good time now. We stopped at a couple of overlooks for pictures and I have been videotaping some of the ride. We only had to stop for gas once and grabbed some mcdonalds for a quick bite.

We redid the luggage and managed to fit it better the second time trying. Rose never did find a luggage carrier.

We are getting along better today. Stef is kinda moody but manageable. I am so grateful my dd is such a sweetheart, she rarely complains and is almost always happy. She and stef are like night and day.

I am gonna take du's advice and meditate and drink massive amounts of alcohol. I wonder if they have lapu lapus in Anaheim

If you wanna know, when my dh is not so d, I give him a swift kick in the shins or tailbone to wake him up and tell him he's supposed to play nice. Even if it doesn't work it always makes me feel better

Tonights hope is to at least see the electric parade at dca. If that falls thru we'll be shopping at downtown Disney instead.

Britt and me have three days to use and I fully intend to use mine. Stef got standby tickets for price is right and wants to go stand in line starting at 5am that day. I already warned them I won't be going.

Most of this trip is all about what rose wants to do since this was her idea, that is actually ok with me.

For me, this trip is all about seeing Disney and that's where I stand up and say that's where I will be!

Man! When you hit traffic here you literally hit it! Rose had to slam the brakes on a minute ago. Thankfully we didn't hit but now we are slooowly making our way thru Santa Barbara.

I will post again before I hit the hay tonight.
