For the record... Registration for the 2014 Disney World Marathon Weekend opened today with early registration a week ago. They are offering a few new things this time: They added a 10k on Friday and moved the 5k to Thursday. And they have a new challenge called the Dopey. It's the 5k on Thursday, 10k on Friday, 1/2 marathon on Saturday, and full marathon on Sunday. Although I was terribly tempted to try this new challenge, I managed to restrain myself. In January, 2014 I will run the 10k on Friday with Tom and the full marathon on Sunday.
It's always fun to do the most challenging combination of the weekend but I realized a few things:
1. Racing 4 days in a row (and training to race 4 days in a row) would put me at risk for injury.
2. Waking up at 2:30am for 4 straight days is hardly my idea of a vacation. Especially when you then spend the afternoon recovering for the next day's race.
3. I really like to try to run my best when I race. If I were to do 4 days in a row, I'd have to run really , really slowly to conserve energy for the next event. I'd prefer to work on getting faster at the marathon distance than run slowly in 4 races.
We're still deciding where to stay - maybe Beach Club or Poly.

There was a day on last years hols when they (3 kids) accidently wore the same coloured shorts and t-shirts and the horror on the oldest 2's faces was priceless
The teenager positively sprinted back to the room to change (you know just in case he met anyone he knew 6000 miles from home).
We'll stay at Boardwalk. I'm not unexcited about Boardwalk but I would have preferred one of the other 2. Are there any resort options that I'm forgetting?

Just keep breathing and it will all come out ok in the end! If the worst comes to the worst you can get ready first in the morning and make a break for the boardwalk when no-one is looking
