Just a little background - I found the dis back in May while planning this trip. I found the Disboutique thread soon after that. I didn't know a thing about sewing, but with the encouragement and advice from the wonderful ladies (and Tom too) on that thread I bought a sewing machie and started making outfits for my 5 yo. daughter! I was hooked!

This trip has been in the works since New Years Eve 2005 when a BFF suggested a family and friends Land/Sea trip! It turned into a huge group! 15 in our immediate group plus another 10 here and there in the parks. Plus another 12 when we hit The Wonder on the 14th! So on Saturday, February 9th we began our First Family trip to the World! (Our dates were February 9-17)

Whew! What a trip! We had lots of fun, and I would definately do it again in a heartbeat. DH on the other hand says we won't be going back until the kids are out of strollers! Well, we'll have to work on that.

Saturday we left for the airport at 7:30am. Of course DD realized she didn't pack her Bunny or Pillow (major problem!!) so Daddy turned around and picked up her forgotten loveys! It was 12 degrees on Saturday morning!! This was both of my kids first flights! I don't think DD took her eyes off the window for more than a few minutes the whole flight! She got to sit with daddy and her cousin. (that's the Tink set I made for her birthday back in September)

DS liked the plane ride too! He played "Drop the Crayons on the Floor" with his uncle who was sitting behind us.

Once in Orlando, we realized that my SIL didn't have her luggage tagged for ME so we had to pick up alot of luggage before heading off to the buses! DS loved the bus ride!

Of all of the kids in our party, DD was the last one I expected to do this...

We went to DTD that night, but of course I forgot my camera in the room! DH totally spoiled DD on this trip! Her first night at DTD he bought her a mickey bracelet, princess minnie ears, a princess minnie plush, and a tee shirt. All on our first night!

Me first? Yayyyy!

I love the little cute touches on the kids! I need to do more t-shirts for my boys. I remember that tink custom! Fun to see it in action.

Where abouts in POP did you stay? I hope you didn't have too much a hike.

Awww, look at your dd "charging her battery"!

Loving it allready Leslie!!! How cool that your neice wore the outfit you made her!

I didn't realize you just started sewing in May! All of your stuff always looks great! I still love that tink fabric.

Wendy - We stayed in the 90's buildiing. A litlle far from everything, but pretty quiet. My nephews actually went swimming at 9:30 one night! My SIL was on the deck in her winter coat watching them. I think it might have been in the 60's but really I'm not sure. Pop was great. The Cast Members were all very friendly and the theming was great! The kids liked it but I think the adults got a bigger kick out of everything.

Great start to your trip report!

Your kids looked adorable! Can't wait to see more pictures of all the great things that you made!

I LOVE seeing your customs! I remembrer Tink, and the swirly Mickey. Can't wait to see more pics of all your great creations in The World!

The outfits look so cute on the kiddos!! And I love the St. Patrick's Day ears on your son - I've never seen those before.

Great start!! If you sew that good and you just started in May, maybe there is hope for me! You stuff looks great!

Great TR so far. I love seeing the things people made on the kids :) I can't wait to read more. I think I'm getting seriously addicted to TR's.

Love your trip report so far. I can't sew at all but wish I could. Everything I make turns into a disaster  .I have made some bows for DD though that turned out good. I'm looking forward to the cruise part of your trip since we just booked our first cruise on the Wonder for October this year. Also we are staying at Pop for DD's Bday next month, so I'm enoying your Pop pics.

Day 1!! Animal Kingdom!!

Nobody (well except for Matthew) slept well Saturday night! Emily must have woken up around 1am because I hear Bob tell her to go back to bed. Around 2am he tells her the same thing and she says "When can we wake up?!" Around 3am I tell her to go to sleep!! I finally fell back to sleep after 3:30. I had a wake upcall set for 7am but because of the late night discussions unplugged the phone! Emily woke up at 7:15 anyway! Mathew slept through Bob taking a shower and Emily bouncing off the walls! She said he was so cute sleeping so we took a picture!

We had a quick breakfast with MIL and BIL at the food court. (SIL already left for AK!) and then set out for Animal Kigdom! (By the Way the bagels at Pop! are awful!) After a quick trip on the bus we arrive! DH can't believe how far the bus drops us off. Lots of walking to do.

Before we even got into the park, I spot Chip and Dale!! So I wheel Matthew over with Emily following behind. Bob actually followed too! To my surprise, Matthew walked right up to them and gave them a hug!

This gave Emily her first taste of autographs! She loved them. Througout the rest of the trip, she would spot someone, grab her autograph book and start yelling "Characters!!"

Across from Chip and Dale was Pochocanatas - with no one waiting to see her!! I left Matthew with Bob, grabbed Emily's hand and quicky walked over ot her. At this point my darling husband and BIL are rolling their eyes at me and shaking their heads!

We finally made it into the actual park! We were suppose to meet SIL for The Festival of the Lion King. I loved this show! So did Emily and Matthew. (I'm pretty sure Bob did too, Lion King is is favorite Disney movie!)

And, guess who got picked to participate in the show!!

:woohoo: I'm so glad you're doing a TR! I'm loving it so far! You've got some great pictures!

How sweet that Matthew ran right up to Chip and Dale! I love his little crocs!

So cool that Emily got picked to be in the Lion King show! This seems to be a theme among us Disboutiquers!

Can't wait to read more!

I tellya, Crocs are comfortable but goofy looking on adults! But the super small sizes (that Matthew wears) are adorable. I love the baby crocs! I was so surprised that he didn't lose his crocs while in the stroller. I don't know how many times back home he has lost one. DH has even sent an employee to a restaurant to retrieve a forgotten croc! But they stayed on his feet our entire vacation!

Hi! Hi! Hi!....Great so far...I love seeing the customs in action!!

I'm so glad you decided to do a trip report! Now we can see lots of pics of those great outfits on action!:thumbsup2
