A DIS stalker's first pre-trippie...It's D-Day (Disney Day)!!

what's the exact time you are leaving and coming back??


Are you still on US Air? Did I tell you what happened to DH last week on US Air??? (ignore if I did...)

He wakes up at 4 am to catch a 6 am flight to St. Louis.

• At 6 am: flight delayed due to "flap issues"
• DH discusses "flap" with US air people (he has worked with planes his whole career). He knows this will not be resolved in 30 min.
• 7 am--still no plane
• 8 am--he goes to Northwest counter and somehow convinces them to let him on the plane.....only it's going to Memphis
• 10am in Memphis.......no way to get to St Louis
• Goes back to US air counter who tickets him a flight to St Louis on American (He is platinum with them too so he figures its a good shot)
• 10:30 (reschedules big business meeting till 2 pm)
• 11 am American flight delayed indefinitely...
• 12 noon no way to get to St Louis so decides to charter a private airplane to St Louis in order to be on time for his big meeting
• 1:30 pm $3,459 plus the cost of the original US air ticket allows him to arrive in St Louis for his delayed meeting.
  
  Then, on top of all of that----
  US Airways says "oh, sir, we were about to cancel that return flight because we noticed you never boarded the original flight...."

He got home at 1 am--really tired.
Going back next week to same place....

(and remember--he is super-top-tier frequent flyer with all these airlines too....)

DM - I'm off to Walmart again. I forgot a couple things, and I found a memory card that I didn't clear. I just wanted to let you know what I have planned for MGM on the 27th. The only ADR I have is for 50's Prime Time Cafe at 11:00 a.m. We might watch the parade at 3:00 p.m. and Fantasmic at 10:30. What do you think about a meeting time and place?

I know I've been an avid reader but I've just realised (and I scanned back but couldn't find it) I don't know your actual trip dates, ie when you get back We're off to my cousins wedding 29th to 1st and wouldn't want you thinking I was neglecting your TR when you got back

I wished I did ignore that! I'm not looking forward to our flight down. I love JetBlue but the $89 flight down was just too good to pass up. At least we are flying JB on the way home.

I just got back from the mall. Ran into Macy's to buy the boys some new underwear. I realized that theirs is getting a bit old. This time they got big boy white briefs and they liked them!

I have Sci-Fi planned at 11:30 am. We plan on taking a break in the afternoon and coming back later. We will probably be there at rope drop and try to do ToT and RnR first off. The morning will be pretty busy for us. We are hoping to be in the "Cars character" line at 11 am. I am thinking that a meeting for us would work better in the evening. What do you think? First let's decide on a time-ish, then we'll get the place.

Friday, June 22
Day of Arrival
Evan & Alec go to school at 9 am. This is their last day of school and it ends at 10:30 am. I know, I know...why bother, right? Rob has to work so I will be the one rushing around making sure everything is all packed up. My parents live next door and have agreed to watch our dog, Jake, for the night until Jake's sitter comes on Saturday to pick him up. We need to be to the airport by 5 pm. Dad is driving us in our minivan. Our flight leaves at 6:20 pm, layover in Charlotte, NC, and arrives in Orlando at 11:22 pm. After reading all the mess with the luggage after 11 pm with DME, we will get our own luggage and take DME to POR.

Saturday, June 23
Epcot
We will sleep in and then go to Epcot. We will probably grab a late CS breakfast in Epcot. We have a 4:10 pm ADR at Le Cellier. At 7:30 pm we will be in Norway to meet a whole bunch of fellow DISers including twob4him (Cathy), Karibritt01 (Kari), Ragnrok (Tony). A few others have expressed interest in meeting. We'll probably all have a drink and then ride Maelstrom together. Cathy will be passing on Felicia von Focker Crocker to me that evening. After that we will call it a night as we want to get to the MK early tomorrow.

Sunday, June 24
Magic Kingdom
Hopefully be at the MK by rope drop. We will be meeting up with CourtneyandRyan this day. We have an 11:30 am ADR at Crystal Palace. Plan on an afternoon break and then back in the evening for a CS dinner and fun. Probably not too late though. Early morning tomorrow.

Monday, June 25
Animal Kingdom
We have to get there very early as we have an 8 am ADR at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. We will be meeting up with CrazyKanga (Laura) at the gate and hopefully we can get a table next to each other. We then plan to run to Expedition Everest as soon as the ropes drop and ride EE with Laura and her family. Of course we will need to do the Child Swap. Laura will have Flora Crocker and hopefully we can get a few pics of the 2 together. From there we will enjoy the park with as many FPs as we can. We will have CS meals whenever we are hungry. We plan on resting in the afternoon back at the resort again and coming back for more in the evening.

Tuesday, June 26
Magic Kingdom/Blizzard Beach
DownTown Disney
This is the day we split up. Rob, Evan & Alec will be going to BB for most of the day. Brooke & I will be having a mommy & daughter day at the MK. The 2 of us have a 12:10 pm ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table. I plan on a slow paced day with Brooke doing all the kiddie stuff. We plan on doing the parks until about 2:30 - 3 pm and meeting up at the room. We will get washed up and take the ferry to Downtown Disney where we have a 7 pm ADR at Raglan Road. We hope to meet up with MagicAddict (Brittany) there as they have the same time ADR. I also want to go to Goofy's Candy to make some rice krispie treats.

Wednesday, June 27
MGM Studios
We plan on being there near rope drop and doing ToT and RnR first off. We have an 11:30 am ADR at the Sci-Fi which we all are looking forward to. We love that place for lunch. We plan on resting during the afternoon and returning later. Sometime during the day we will meet up with tnmomof4 (Sarah) to give her Felicia. We will probably skip Fantasmic to be able to enjoy the "quietness" of the park that evening.

Thursday, June 28
Epcot
Plan on getting here at rope drop and doing the biggie things we probably missed on Saturday - like Soarin'. We have an 11:30 am ADR at the Coral Reef. I mentioned on the ADR that we will be celebrating Rob & my 11th anniversary. Not sure about a break today. We have an ADR for Garden Grill at 5:50 pm. I hope to get the passports for the kids to get stamped in the countries.

Friday, June 29
Magic Kingdom
We need to spend our final full day here of course! The only ADR is for lunch at 11:40 am at Liberty Tree Tavern. We will take a rest in the afternoon and then hopefully come back and have fun until everyone drops from exhaustion!

Saturday, June 30
Day of departure
We plan on getting CS breakfast and lunch to use up our credits. Maybe Rob & the kids will go swimming one last time. I am sure our DME bus back to the airport will be at 3:30 pm as our JetBlue flight leaves at 6:30 pm. We have a layover at JFK and then touchdown in Syracuse at 12:14 am. Whew!! A long day it will be but we can all sleep in...

Yes...Cars meeting is a must!!! Alec has all but 1 "matchbox" Cars and a bunch of other things of Cars. He is obsessed with them but that's okay with me because I think they are the cutest things. Here's when Cars are out:

Guess what I finally started to do last night. Come on. Take a good guess. I'll wait.......

Okay, since no one is guessing right now, I'll tell you. I started packing!! I got my generic Wegman's gallon baggies and got the kids clothes organized for each day. Wow. I am really amazed at myself. I just have to finish a load of laundry today to complete Alec's packing because we bought him a new tank top and I need to wash it first.

I will be packing everything else tonight except for the stuff that I need tomorrow.

Tonight we need to drop off Freddy & George at my brother's home. Who are Freddy & George you may ask? Well, they are none other than Evan & Alec's tadpoles. They have had them for a few weeks now and we are waiting for them to turn into Leopard Frogs. Not even close yet. But that's good because I was afraid it would happen while we were away and wouldn't that be a bummer to the boys?

And what's my PTR without a bit of drama? Hold on because here is another story that happened last night...beware it's long...

Remember my parents live next door and they had agreed to watch Jake (our dog) just for the overnight and place him in our garage in the morning so that my friend B--- can pick him up. B--- told me yesterday that she was going to pick Jake up between 8 - 9 am on Saturday morning. That sounded great so I phoned my mom to tell her and my mom said that she and my father wanted to leave for their trip on Friday night so they would just put Jake in the garage and leave him there until Brandy came and picked him up Saturday morning. WHAT??????!!!!! I was ticked. I said no way did I want Jake alone in our garage for that length of time. Jake loves the garage because it is nice and cool for him but not for that long. Mom went on to say that they had a vacation that they wanted to enjoy also. But I reminded her that she had agreed to do this for us and they had absolutely no plans until 2 days ago. They are driving down to Maryland to visit my Uncle Peter. Why couldn't they leave early Saturday morning? She just curtly said, "Well thanks for understanding about our vacation," to which I replied, "What's there to understand? You're stiffing us and I am not happy but there's nothing I can do about so whatEVER." There was no yelling but it wasn't a nice ending to that conversation.

My stomach was getting all upset and I called my brother's fiance to see if she could at least come and take Jake out for a walk late Friday night just so he wouldn't have to go that long. She agreed. Now, I didn't want to burn all my bridges with my parents because my dad was taking us to the airport Friday and was picking us back up the following Sunday at 12:14 am!

While I was talking to Amy (bro's fiance) my mother rang in. I saw her on caller ID but I ignored it because I wasn't finished with Amy and I was still not happy about the situation. I then went on to get Brooke ready for bed. About 10 minutes later, the phone rang again but I was in Brooke's room. Rob was by the phone and he shouted that it was my parents. I told him to answer it, which he did, and it was Mom wanting to talk to me. I said very flatly, "Hello." She started in saying why didn't I answer the phone. I yelled back at that point saying I was busy with Brooke and so stop accusing me of not answering... . She then very nicely said that she discussed things with my dad and they will be leaving Saturday morning instead and will take care of Jake. At that point, it was like a sunshine from Heaven. What a relief because when my tummy gets very upset on these kinds of things I end up throwing up. Sorry, TMI.

So, it all worked out in the end but what a drama and 1 day before our trip no less. Thanks for listening....

DM - I'm glad that Jake is settled now. It is SO FRUSTRATING when things like that happen. We just dropped Mocha off at the "inn"... I always feel SO GUILTY when I do that - but it was one of my conditions if we were getting a dog - he had to get used to the boarder, because I wasn't changing my lifestyle. LOL

I am a nervous wreck - I just HATE "PRE TRIP" - I want to BE THERE!
This "evening flight" seemed like a good idea at the time of booking - now I'm worried about "thunderstorms" in our area. ugh...
