Brooke was born on July 8, 2004, by c-section. Her birth was the best one of the three. The whole operating suite had a great time in there. Sounds strange but it was the best bunch! My GYN who was supposed to deliver Brooke did not show up and another doc from his practice filled in. I had wished he had been there for the boys as he was the best ever! Even the anesthesiologist was wonderful.

So, here is the little princess...Brooke Maree.

Anyhoooo, back to the vacation. Dad was working for a company called R&L Industries. This company really has some wonderful employee perks. R&L owns a bunch of different properties that employees can stay for free during their vacation. They own condos and supervisor suites in Pidgeon Forge, TN; condos in Daytona Beach, FL; condos in Ft Myers, FL; and managers’ houses in Ft Myers, FL. Since Dad was a manager he was able to stay in one of the managers’ house in Ft. Myers for FREE! This house was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home very close to Sanibel Island. We had already stayed here before back in 2002 and this was our second time. We knew what to expect and were totally excited about this trip. The bedrooms were set up wondefully to fit all 7 of us. Mom & Dad had the master bedroom, the boys had their own bedroom with a double bed, and Rob, Brooke & I had a bedroom with a queen bed and a separate sitting area that had a foldout sofa bed.

Here is a picture of our home. This is the back of the home and the garage with driveway you see is for the boat and launch. Since this is a Disney related thread, I will not post any more pictures of our time in Ft. Myers. However, if you would like to view them, just PM me with your email address and I can send you a link to view all of our photos on a slideshow.
34.jpg

Rob & I had already decided that we absolutely had to go to the Magic Kingdom for a day. Since we had already saved by staying free in Ft. Myers, why not get a room at the Wilderness Lodge for a night? Sounds like a good plan.

We got up early on a Tuesday, got all the kids fed and dressed, and headed out for Disney World. On our trip up from Ft. Myers, we passed through Port Charlotte which had been hit bad by a hurricane a month or so prior. There were still roofs torn off with tarp over them. What we were most shocked at were the huge highway lamp posts that were bent right over like they were made of toothpicks! We made it as far as Tampa when we decided to stop to eat lunch. We stopped at Wendy’s. As we were walking out of Wendy’s, I had the boys start marching with their legs up high and stretching out their arms. I told them this was a good thing to do on our break from the road trip. An elderly couple chuckled at us all doing that.

Brooke was only 4 months old at this time and she slept nearly the whole way. Wouldn’t you know that she would start to fuss as we pulled onto Disney property? This was the time that I wanted to videotape our arrival. Anyway, it’s all on video with her fussing in back.

It was such a beautiful day our whole trip up and wouldn’t you know that it started to downpour just as we were pulling up to the Lodge? Figures!

We pulled up to the Wilderness Lodge and went to check in. The room wasn’t ready yet but would be soon so we decided to check out the lobby. Unfortunately, most of my lobby pictures did not come out so well but here’s one of my favorites.
21.jpg

And here is the a dark picture inside the lobby.
5.jpg

Finally the time to check in came. We had booked a woods view room. When we got into our room, I ran over to the drapes and looked out and saw....a top of the building and the road coming up to the Lodge. How disappointing. No way did I consider this woods view. So, I called the front desk and explained my concern. The CM at first asked me if I could see any trees. I said a few tops of trees but. She then said that if I could see trees then that is a woods view. I told her that this is not a woods view in my opinion and I would like to be changed. She put me on hold and then came on to tell me that I had requested bunk beds in the room and that is why we are in that room. I told her that I did not request bunk beds and she told me that I did as it was on our reservation. I said that I did not request them, I should know. I was put on hold again and then she came back on again saying that there were no more woods view rooms available but they had a villas courtyard view and that we would be upgraded at no charge. She then went on to tell me that there were no bunk beds in that room. I just said, that will be fine.

Now this was a nice room even if it didn’t have bunk beds  .

26.jpg

Evan had to pose with Brooke for a picture.
34.jpg

It was still all wet outside when I took these pictures of our view. Looking just slightly to the left is the quiet pool at the Villas...
25.jpg

...and looking left toward Bay Lake.
24.jpg

Rob & the boys wanted to go swimming in the worst way but it was still just slightly raining. Who cares? They were just going to get wet anyway. I told them to go ahead while I fed Brooke. After I fed Brooke we went down to the pool area and stood underneath the pool bar to keep from getting wet. I took a few pictures of the view from the bar. And no, I did not have an alcoholic drink as I was still breastfeeding.

Looking straight back at the Lodge...
32.jpg

...zoomed in slightly toward the pool slide.
33.jpg

The rain subsided and Brooke & I emerged from the bar to take some more pictures of all the “boys”. First Evan...
30.jpg

...then Rob...
29.jpg

...and then Alec.
31.jpg

The boys loved the slide so much that as soon as they went down it they got out of the pool and ran up to go down again. The best part was that the 3 of them were the only ones in the pool!
27.jpg

We had an ADR at Whispering Canyon Café. We thought this would be a real hoot to eat at and the food sounded great! We had to wait about 10 minutes for our table so the boys played a bit with the Lincoln Logs. Alec, even now, really wants to buy the Wilderness Lodge Lincoln Log set. I told him he could this trip if they still have it. It would have to be part of his birthday present though because back in 2004 it was, I believe, over $60. Of course, it has to be more now!
35.jpg

Our meals were delicious! I got the bottomless shake. What can I say, I love milkshakes. It goes with my brain liking ice cream way way WAY too much than my butt does.
39.jpg

38.jpg

The whole “in your face” part of this meal was really lost with the boys. Evan was much too shy to enjoy doing the ketchup run. A CM even tied a bandanna on his head trying to bring him out to no avail...
36.jpg

At one point they had all the men get up and do some crazy song and dance. I was trying to videotape it and Brooke started to fuss a bit. An elderly lady came up, got down on her knees, took the jar of baby food, and proceeded to feed Brooke. I was taken aback at first but then I realized that she was trying to help me out while I continued to videotape. I thought that was really sweet of her. I was a bit nervous because I had just started Brooke on baby food the week before and didn’t know how another person feeding her would go. No problem. She gobbled it right down.

Of course, this was another meal that Alec fell asleep to...how he fell asleep with all that noise, I can’t figure out.
37.jpg

Then we walked around the grounds a bit and headed back to our rooms to settle in for the night.
40.jpg

...continued on the next post.

We woke up bright and early and got all packed up. I took a few more pictures with the morning sun up of our view. Here is looking to the right...
1.jpg

...and straight ahead toward the Villas...
2.jpg

...then looking down...
4.jpg

...and, again, the picture looking to the left of Bay Lake.
3.jpg

Rob ran the suitcase out to the van while I took the kids through the lobby for a few more photo ops.
6.jpg

I especially liked this one!
8.jpg

Here is Brooke in her first outfit of the day. Yes, she made a mess and had to be changed. I’m glad I packed an extra outfit.
11.jpg

While Rob got the double stroller I took a picture looking toward the City Hall and the fire station. I thought that most people take pictures looking toward the castle and I wanted to be different. Well, it really wasn’t that great a shot...
9.jpg

And we start our morning walk...
10.jpg

I didn’t take that many pictures again as I just kept forgetting as I was taking care of Brooke. We rode some of the Fantasyland rides and then decided to grab some lunch.

We were the first people in line at the Columbia Harbour House for lunch. I should say, Rob was the first in line and I found a table to sit down with the kids. Rob came over to us after we finished ordering and said that a CM wanted us to eat upstairs instead. I was a bit put off at first because we had the stroller rolled in nicely and how were we to get upstairs with it? Plus Brooke nor the boys were not being disruptive so why? But the CM just said they needed us upstairs and showed us through the kitchen to the CM elevator. We went up to the 2nd floor and she took us to a table that was all made up...
12.jpg

She said because we were the 1st family of the day we were special and this was our special table. Wow. That was pretty cool. At the end of our meal she came back up to us and presented us with this...
P1000438.jpg

...along with a family Fast Pass for any ride that we chose. Since Alec was still too short to go on any of the “big” rides, we looked over at Pooh later and the line was atrocious. So, we chose to use the FP on that!

Sometime after lunch is when Brooke made the total mess and needed a total change of outfits. So, here she is in outfit #2 with Rob & Evan on the train.
13.jpg

Toward the end of the evening the boys were getting pretty tired...
17.jpg

...so we decided to call it a day at the Magic Kingdom.
16.jpg

Instead of taking the ferry back to the Wilderness Lodge we decided to hop on the monorail and go over to the Contemporary Resort and then take the ferry back from there, just for something different. As we were approaching the ferry to go back to the Lodge, out came Captain Hook. We saw him and were totally surprised! He came right up to us and Brooke reached out her hand to him. Picture perfect moment.
19.jpg

I just wish the boys weren’t afraid of him so I could have gotten a picture with them in it too. Evan even had a Captain Hook birthday party 2 months prior! Oh well.

We hopped on the ferry, which waited for us (how nice) and headed back to the Lodge. We walked very slowly through the lobby one last time and went out to our van and drove back to Ft. Myers.

We had a wonderful rest of the week in Ft. Myers. That was the last time we were able to stay there as Dad retired from the company the following January. Bummer! Here is one more picture of the view we had from our home...yes, I know I said I wasn't going to post any more of those pictures but I lied.

Next installment....
Cape Canaveral with yet another day trip to the Magic Kingdom

Love the update.. Now I do see some butt pictures in that one you were trying to take a pic of the castle..HMMM...maybe your moms camera techniques fell on to you :lmao:

I never noticed before! It's not the castle but the railroad station and YUP..there is Rob's butt. At least I didn't do it intentionally. :confused3 The next installment has a picture that my mom deliberately took of our butts. I am trying to figure out how to edit it to block my big old butt.

DM somehow I missed your installment again you're going to have to put a big sign in your title telling me :lmao: Brooke is just adorable, such a sweetie. How great to get the pool all to yourselves and the view from your house is great!

:confused3 :confused3 Hey, my post on here yesterday got eaten up??? Sorry DM I thought I posted but apparently not. Dag nabbit.
Well, I loved your last report and all the pics! You are so brave bringing such a little one with you...I remember clearly how hard it is to care for and feed a little baby! But she is so adorable...I love the newborn pic! You all looked like you really enjoyed the visit!
Awwwww :goodvibes My DD2 goes by the same name ironically enough. We call her Brook which is short for Brooklyn. Small world huh!
Can't wait for more~:cheer2:

Oh, right! A big sign in my title telling you, huh? Or maybe I could "pimp" out my PTR like some people....:rolleyes1 :lmao:

What is with people's posts getting eaten up? That has happened to me a couple of times on the Stalking Thread. Brave bringing a baby to DW? Nope, just a true Disney freak getting her "fix".

We finally had another chance to get in a “one-dayer” at the Magic Kingdom when we rented a condo from a friend in Cape Canaveral. My parents joined us that trip. Okay, I should have really said it like it is. My PARENTS rented the condo and we came along for the ride.

This trip we flew JetBlue for the first time. This airline is the bestest ever! We had a nonstop flight from Syracuse to Orlando. Our captain was great. Just as we were approaching the runway for take-off he announced to everyone, “Please make sure you roll up your windows cause we’re gonna go really really fast!” The whole cabin burst out laughing. I think that helped settle Mom a bit. She gets real nervous flying. I, on the other hand, absolutely LOVE to fly. It’s in my blood, baby!

So, the flight was great. We were watching thunderstorms off on the Atlantic coast. Just lovely. Oops! Did I say the flight was great? Well, it was until the end. Rob was holding Brooke on the descent and she started to look a bit funny. I told Rob that I thought she was going to - oops. Too late. She started to throw up on Rob. Those Terra Blue Chips really look gross as vomit! Brooke's clothes were soaked with vomit. Good thing it didn’t smell though. Fresh vomit is the best! :thumbsup2 :rotfl: Since we were in warm Orlando, I just took Brooke’s shirt off and threw it away. We wiped up her pants the best we could - and Rob’s shirt too.

It wouldn’t have been that bad except the fact that there were quite a bit of a thunderstorms in Orlando upon landing. We had to wait about 1½ hours for our luggage to come out on the carousel because they said that no baggage is handled when it is lightening out. Here’s our tired bunch waiting for the luggage. We put Mom’s sweatshirt on Brooke to cover her up.
PICT0259.jpg

We got our rental cars and then drove to Cape Canaveral. It was 11 pm by the time we arrived there so we quickly got everything situated and went to bed - after a quick run to Subway for some subs. Boy, we were starving.

Here’s a picture of the condo that we stayed in. Again, I have tons of pictures in a slideshow online and if any of you want to see them, give me a PM with your email address. We could see the Disney cruise ships going in and out of port from our condo.
009_09.jpg

So, back to the good stuff. The plan for Disney this time was another day trip to the Magic Kingdom. We wanted to make sure we were there bright and early so we booked a room at the Radisson Resort Celebration for the night. It was just going to be the 5 of us this time again. I did tell my parents that if they decided to join us in the Magic Kingdom, they were more than welcome. They said they would let us know.

So, again on a Tuesday, we packed up right before lunch, drove over to Merritt Island and had some delicious Wendy’s for lunch again. Can you tell we like Wendy’s? It’s no Friendly’s but it is cheaper. Then we drove on over to the Radisson and checked in our room. Here is the one and only picture of our room there.
IMGP0057.jpg

We enjoyed the afternoon swimming in the hotel pool. We ordered pizza for dinner and ate in our room and went to bed early.

I called my parents in the morning and they said that they would indeed be joining us in the MK but not to wait for them. They were going to take their time. I told them that I wait for no one anyway...:rotfl2: . We drove into the parking lot. I took a picture of what aisle we were in just in case...
IMGP0058.jpg

We hopped the tram, bought tickets and then took the monorail over to the MK. We got our double stroller and started to put things into it when I thought we had better get a locker for some of the bigger things that I didn’t want to carry around all day. Rob went and did that while we waited. I got the “picture perfect” moment again with my 3 angels.
IMGP0059.jpg

I glanced up at the castle and saw that hideous crane. I almost didn’t take a picture but then went ahead and did it anyway. Notice how I carefully left out the butts of Evan and Rob...;)
IMGP0060.jpg

We got up closer and no one was there so we tried for another picture with the kids. Not as cute as the stroller pic though. Darn that sun!
IMGP0061.jpg

First ride was, of course, Dumbo!!! Rob, Brooke & Evan behind Alec & I.
IMGP0065.jpg

We then cruised right onto the Madhatter Teacups. The kids love this one!
IMGP0063.jpg

IMGP0062.jpg

Then we jumped right onto the Pooh ride.
IMGP0064.jpg

We were really lucking out on walking on almost every ride! The kids were a bit hungry so we stopped and bought them some bananas and I called my parents who were still driving but almost here. We decided to head on over to Tomorrowland. On the way over, another photo op...
IMGP0066.jpg

Now, I knew Evan was big enough to ride on Space Mountain but I didn’t think Alec was. We casually had Alec stand over next to the marker but didn’t tell him why. We were excited to learn that he made the 44" mark easily. I told Rob to take both boys while Brooke and I tried to get another stroller. Ours wasn’t rolling very nice and I knew there was a stroller exchange in Tomorrowland next to the Space Mountain exit. We got our stroller and I decided to call Mom & Dad yet again. They were walking into the gates at that moment so I told him to head over to Space Mountain.

Rob & the boys came off the ride and Evan wanted to go back immediately. Alec didn’t like it. He didn’t like the fact that no one was beside him. Even though he was seated in the middle, he wasn’t feeling the security so he passed on going again. Dad & Mom came up just then and so Dad, Evan & I went on Space Mountain quick. There was, again, very very little wait.

After that, we debated on what to do. Buzz Lightyear did have a line at that time so we grabbed some Fast Passes and bided a short wait in Tomorrowland. Mom took this picture of Evan and I really like it. I titled it, “Evan ponders about the future”.
PICT0276.jpg

It was time for Buzz.
IMGP0079.jpg

Alec rode with Mom...
PICT0280.jpg

...and Dad & Evan rode together.
PICT0281.jpg

Mom & I each took a picture of the kids with Evil Emporer Zurg. Vote who took the better picture...and I’m telling who took which.
IMGP0080.jpg

PICT0282.jpg

And now, the moment you have all been waiting for....Ta-da-DAAAA! The infamous butt shot my Mom took as we were walking out of Tomorrowland. Darn that Pluto had to run in back of me and cover my butt!
WDWwalking.jpg

...continued in the next post...

Rob, the kids & I had an ADR at the Crystal Palace so we went to check in there and Mom & Dad went over to the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. We had an excellent meal at the CP and the kids absolutely loved it again. We will be headed back there in June. First up....Tigger.
IMGP0072.jpg

Alec, please put down the chicken strip and smile in the camera!
IMGP0071.jpg

Next up....hugs from Pooh!
IMGP0078.jpg

IMGP0076.jpg

Oh Alec...the camera is over here!
IMGP0077.jpg

Then comes....Eeyore! He is just soooooo funny to Brookie.
IMGP0069.jpg

Oh good Alec is smiling nicely (chicken strip in hand) but darn that Evan!!!!!
IMGP0070.jpg

Finally Piglet comes along and we get good shots of all...(Alec with cookie in hand this time)
IMGP0073.jpg

IMGP0074.jpg

Mom & Dad ate at the Liberty Tree Tavern and really enjoyed their meal. They finished up just as we did so we all met over at Splash Mountain. We got FPs Splash Mountain and started to head over to the Haunted Mansion. Brooke fell asleep on the way there and her brothers just couldn’t resist posing for pictures. First Alec with Brooke...
PICT0278.jpg

...then Evan had to join in.
PICT0279.jpg

Finally “Sleeping Brookie” all alone.
PICT0285.jpg

We headed back to ride Splash Mountain and still had about 10 minutes until FP time. She we jumped on the Railroad for a ride around the park.
PICT0284.jpg

IMGP0081.jpg

Here’s a shot I got looking out from Main Street Station toward Bay Lake.
IMGP0082.jpg

FP time came up and we grabbed FPs for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad first though. Mom stayed with Brooke again. Here’s our classic Splash Mountain picture with Rob, Alec & I seated in front and Dad with Evan behind us.
splash4.jpg

After Splash Mt Mom informed me that the parade had gone by and Brooke started dancing away to the music. But, she did do a big twirl around and landed her butt in some nasty watery mess. So Mom removed Brooke’s shorts and covered her with the towel in the stroller while they waited for us to come back. I then ran into one of the stores to buy her something to wear. I decided on an oversized tee-shirt that she could wear as a dress this year and a tee-shirt next year. Alec wanted to buy a really cute hat so we let him spend some of his money on that and took this picture of him.
IMGP0088.jpg

That was cute picture. But then Evan wanted his picture and, of course, has to be a really little wise guy...
IMGP0089.jpg

Alec sees Evan do that so he has to copy him. So, here’s his Evan imitation.
IMGP0090.jpg

In the meantime, Brooke is in the back fussing. Mom, who messed up a setting on her camera, actually recorded a very short segment of Brooke fussing...Click on the pic below to watch it (very very short).

Time came for BTMR but I felt bad about Mom having to watch Brooke a lot so I told all the “boys” to go ahead and have fun while Mom, Brooke & I went on It’s a Small World.
IMGP0083.jpg

Brooke loved IASW and sat on Mom’s lap the whole time.
IMGP0086.jpg

We had dinner at Pinnochio’s Village Haus then went over to Pirate’s of the Caribbean. We loved Captain Jack in there! We were going to leave then but saw that there was no line at the Jungle Cruise so we hopped right on. We have always had to wait in line for that ride before so we were pretty excited about no line. Our boat captain convinced us to stay for the Spectromagic Parade. We found a good spot to sit and watched it for the first time. Rob got the entire parade on video...and I mean the ENTIRE parade. He makes it hard for me to edit our videos on DVD.

Finally, we called it a night and got on the monorail to the TTC and then the tram to our parking area. Wouldn’t you know that the tram passed our row and kept going and going and going. It seemed like a long walk back to our van. We got the kids changed into jammies, put in a DVD for them to watch, and started our drive back to Cape Canaveral. It was a wonderful day.

Coming up next....
The Pre-Trip Report really begins!

Loved the pictures..your kids are so very cute :)

I told Rob that I thought she was going to - oops. Too late. She started to throw up on Rob. Those Terra Blue Chips really look gross as vomit! Brooke's clothes were soaked with vomit. We went to StLucia a few years ago an 8 hour flight, 1 hour in Ellie spills her drink and has to go the rest of the flight in her knickers :rotfl2: Also coming home from Florida about 1 hour before landing Jessica is sick everywhere :scared: The silly thing was as we took off she asked me what the sick bags were for but didn't think to use them!

I got the “picture perfect” moment again with my 3 angels.
IMGP0059.jpg
Haven't they grown! So sweet :cutie:

Mom & I each took a picture of the kids with Evil Emporer Zurg. Vote who took the better picture...and I’m telling who took which.
IMGP0080.jpg

OK don't hate me, hope I get it right! I go for the top one as it has all of Zurg in :confused3

And now, the moment you have all been waiting for....Ta-da-DAAAA! The infamous butt shot my Mom took as we were walking out of Tomorrowland. Darn that Pluto had to run in back of me and cover my butt!

:rotfl2: That is so good :rotfl2:

My dear British friend...are you stereotyping we Americans? Righto good chap! You are darn bloody well right!:lmao:
:lmao: You've been watching too much Bridgette Jones and Pride and Predjudice haven't you :rotfl2:

Oh...I didn't mention our plane trip home. It was so turbulent that Alec started to vomit in the sick bag and I could hear another woman retching like crazy quite a few rows behind us. Another guy on an aisle seat looked like he was going to blow all over. Funny thing was that Brooke, Rob, Evan & I were all saying, "Wheeee!" :lmao:

OK don't hate me, hope I get it right! I go for the top one as it has all of Zurg in :confused3
DING DING DING. You win! That's my pic. I took it to include all of Zurg. I think Mom was thinking Zurg would turn around so his butt would show! :rotfl2:

:lmao: You've been watching too much Bridgette Jones and Pride and Predjudice haven't you :rotfl2:
Nope. Never have seen either. I got the "bloody well right" from the group Supertramp. Remember them? I love having a new British friend!! It's so much fun!

So, let's get started with my "real" pre-trip planning. We, I mean I decided at the end of January that we were going back to Disney World for a weeklong vacation. We just wanted to see what we would be getting back from our tax return to see if we could do it. Yup! It turned out enough so the very next day after seeing our accountant I called the Walt Disney Travel Company and booked our vacation for Saturday, June 23, to Saturday, June 30. We were booked with Port Orleans Riverside, 6 days Magic Your Way Base, and Disney Dining. Woohoo! Now the airfare search was on!
thumb_mickey6.gif

In the meantime, I was having fun on these boards and met up with a wonderful person. Introducing.....Courtney! Courtney and I have been great buddies ever since and we started up our own thread for others going down to Disney the same time we were. That thread ROCKS!

After doing more research on hopeful codes for the time we were going, a lot of talk about AAA came up and how much people were saving. I was not a AAA member but I called and got a quote from them. The travel agent told me they would wave the registration fee if we booked a package through them. I just had to pay $50 for the year membership. Their package price beat WDTC by over $200 so I immediately booked it through AAA and called and cancelled the WDTC ressie.

Anyhoo....I was getting depressed at the airfare prices and then I got the idea to try to do two separate 1-way flights. I first asked my fellow peeps on the DISboards if anyone has ever done this and I had an overwhelming positive response!

Now, I really was not being flexible with times of flights. I wanted an early early Saturday morning flight going to Disney and leave in the later afternoon coming home. I did get a bit flexible and started checking on Friday evening flights. I finally found a 1-way flight on USAir for a $89/pp. I wasn't sure how that would affect our budget though because we would need to add on an extra night of resort and DDP. I found another flight that was much more expensive for the time I wanted on Saturday. So now I needed to do the math with AAA.

I called the AAA agent and asked her to quote me for adding on the extra day resort and DDP and, what the heck, throw in another MYW day. After all was calculated, when comparing Saturday's total with Friday's total, it would cost us only $46 more to fly in on Friday night. Uhm...hello...no brainer! Book it Danno!

Rob told me that he just saw on t.v. that the airfare prices were going up yet again so book that 1-way flight now and find our return. So I did. I found a return flight on JetBlue for more than I wanted to spend but it was the perfect time and I love JetBlue! JetBlue 1-way cost $159/pp. I was so glad that I booked those flights because since then the cost has been rising and rising. Our same flights now are over double what we paid!

So now we are booked for Friday, June 22, to Saturday, June 30.
Coming up...our itinerary gets set!
